(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok, so for the past couple weeks I've had the open tray error, I always ignored it because eventually after many tries the game would work. But now, I am unable to play any game disc whatsoever. I've tried many different ways to fix this, and nothing has helped. I really don't want to send my xbox for a repair if it's something I can fix myself. If someone could tell me an exact way of fixing this permanently I would really appreciate it, and if it works, I'll give that person all my vBux. I know some of you could care less about vBux but it's the only thing I have to offer as an incentive to help me. Below is all the steps I've tried so far to fix it, and all the errors I get from my xbox. Please help, thanks. Smile

Errors I get:

Open Tray Error
Unreadable Disk
Stuck Disk Tray (Especially when there's no disk in it)

Things I've tried to fix it:

I turned the screws by the laser to the left slightly, I moved the laser to its starting point, I cleaned all the dust out of it, and lubed up the piece that spins the disk.

If you know of any other methods to try and fix this please let me know, and if it works you will be rewarded all my vBux. Thanks.

Try these.

--------------------------------------------------------
"1) Place the 360 horizontally
2) Insert a disk
3) Close tray, and tap on top of the disk drive with your controller with moderate pressure 30 times.
4) Pray that it works.

Fixed it right away."

Tried all of those already, no offense but I don't need someone to do a google search for me I need someone who knows what they're talking about and have had this problem before and they were able to fix it.

Tapping on the xbox is not a permanent fix, and that's only used to open a stuck disk tray. My main problem is the open tray error, but thanks for trying to help.

Surely putting a disc into your Xbox and 'tapping' it 30 times is more than likely to laser burn your game than fix the problem.

Maybe buy a replacement DVD drive and install that? I think you may need to flash it first though, I'm not entirely sure.

Example of where to buy them from:
LG example - You must login or register to view this content.
Phillips example - You must login or register to view this content.
