I know how you feel. I really could give two shits about having a Google+ account, and I doubt anyone even wants a Google+ account. And it's obvious that Google+ is shit otherwise Google wouldn't be shoving it down peoples throats or forcing it on to them like this.

At the end of the day when your company is worth billions, on the paper chase, and are in the US governments back pocket you'll be supported till you die. Google just needs to admit that it will never be like Facebook and just kill off Google+.

It's true it sucks...but the time it took you to make this thread is the time it would have taken you to set up a channel. Once it's done you don't have to use Google+ again.

Well they took it out now, before there used to be a link in the "youtube settings" called "Return name to ... and disconnect from Google+ profile" but now they've removed that so its not possible.

You don't have to make a new channel.

Go to settings - Advanced - Create new URL - *Type new channel name*
- Use name as ... and un link google plus.

I figured it out myself!
