Feel like a Sir.
When on redsnow though you get promted with a different way to enter DFU mode ? i am confused because whenether i try the way on screen it black screens my ipod which i know how to fix :/

How is it prompting you to do so? like: Turn the device off and hold the home button while plugging the device into your usb port?

If so i believe it is called something other then DFU mode. but i see no worry in looking into it atm if it is not the problem you are having. let me know what it is prompting you to do and i will link you to a video tut on how to do it or just explain it as best as i can.

Nahh i am not having problem with that for some reason i can not downgrade no matter what from 4.2.1 i tried growngrading and i always get error ... itunes cannot update ipod because firmware is not compatible ?

To downgrade you will have to use SHSH blobs i believe.

EDIT::: If you dont know what SHSH Blobs are in the first paragraph just click the blue lettering like this (have your SHSH blobs on file)

So far i do not know a way or even if there is a way to downgrade without SHSH Blobs. Im sorry. But im off work at 4pm (central time) ill search the net and see if i can find anything about downgrading without the blobs.

It's recommended that you don't jailbreak your iphone 4 4.2.1
unless you want to be plugging it in the computer in the time to on it.
