(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Well, I finally updated my 3.1.2 jailbreak last night since my iTunes wouldn't back up right, and now I want to re-jailbreak, however I can't get my touch into DFU mode thanks to no working sleep button. Before when I was jailbroken I was just using an app to lock my touch, but now that won't work. Any suggestions?

1. Acquire an .ipsw (4.2.1 for ipod touch 2g) for your device. Download here. You must login or register to view this content.

2. Rename the .ipsw to .rar and open the .ipsw in WinRAR (or an equivalent file browser). Do not extract it!

3. Navigate to Firmware/all_Flash/all_flash.n72ap.production, copy out the applelogo.s5l8720x.img3 file, rename it to LLB.n72ap.RELEASE.img3 and then overwrite the LLB File with this.

4. Exit out of the editor and change the extension back to an .ipsw

5. Then Restore your iDevice to the modified firmware and it should kick it into DFU mode! (With maybe an error or 2 :S)

Have any questions feel free to ask... just quote me so I can respond faster..

Love how people are trying to help get you back to Official Firmware. -.-

As for the broken lock button, isn't there a jailbreaking program that does EVERYthing for you? Something rain I thought.

Edit:

Did a quick Google search -.-

You'll have to go to 4.0, then Jailbreakme.com will be able to do the rest. As for higher firmwares...think you might be out of luck.

My 2G was running on 4.2.1 under redsn0w because it was the only program recommended by my friends. Try reinstalling the apllication again?

Well, it appears as though it has indeed gone into DFU mode, however, three times now greenp0ison has failed to jailbreak it. Any ideas? And yes, I am running it as Admin. It just has a white screen right now.

Hello, this link should answer you're question.

You must login or register to view this content.

It works whether you're on windows or on a mac. Just open up the ipsw and edit the file.

Also on your user title, "trolling is a art", replace "a" with "an" :carling:
