(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Story is my 3GS no longer vibrates and when im next near the apple store, im going to take it in. But it's jailbroke, so im going to update it and this should be fine then with my warrenty. However i see stories of people saying apple can tell and stuff but I'm sure they can't, just want to ask if anyone has had a similar problem and restored/updated to remove their Jailbreak then being serviced fine.

Also I spoke to Pixie about this in the shoutbox yesterday, he said it was fine as he had a similar thing but i just wanted to ask. I also dont know what they will do as the 3GS is no longer being sold, if they dont have any in stock would they give me a 4/4s at a reduced price or something?

Thank you

And please note that the "checking" that I'm talking about it not the checking that they will do in the store. To find this data it would take a very long time. You would have to do a lot of work to find it. It would be similar to recovering things on a SSD (which is very difficult due to TRIM)

So you're safe. I wouldn't worry at all about it, but I thought you should just know :p

Ahhh thanks, its pretty re-assuring seeing that someone knows something about the actual details, all in all its not worth it for them to bother checking really, besides its not like the software would of caused a hardware issue

I got a 4S and the WIFI stopped working, what I did was 'Vanilla Restored' it. (Google it) and then went into apple and got it replaced there and then. No problems caused. Apple can not find out straight off whether it's jailbroken either..

My friend told me about it.. Basically iTunes does not back-up your jailbroken shiz, so back it up and run the back up.. Or something..

Search Google 'Jailbreak Vanilla Restore'.

After you restore they don't know if it was previously jailbroken. And yes they will give you a discounted 4/4S. Quote me if you have more questions. ^^

any idea how discounted? cause I'm not someone who has loads of money and I dont want to end up having to spend £100+ in all honesty, but i have a feeling it may go that way

I don't know how much but I heard on some posts that it was free. Go check and if you have to pay a lot you can say No.
