With iOS 6.1 brought some new minor features. The main feature is that it brings LTE support to more iPhone and iPad carriers. You can also now buy movie tickets through Siri (US Only), and the option returned to download individual songs from iCloud.
New privacy settings have been included as well like the option to reset Apple's advertising identifier option, a "non-permanent, non-personal, device identifier".
A new music playback control has also been added to the lock screen, and a back end change in Apple's mapping software.

Also confirmed, for users looking to jailbreak, it is safe to upgrade to iOS 6.1, but warns that these upgrades should be done through iTunes and not OTA. It is however, unclear if he means complete restore though iTunes or just upgrade. (@pimskeks)

What does he mean by restore from itunes not OTA what is OTA?

OTA = Over the air.

so if i updated over the air what do i have to do before i jailbreak

Its said to be fine but I'd be on the safe side and not do it.

So alt if i updated OTA then done a complete restore on itunes will i be able to jailbreak on the safe side? p.s why is there a risk with ota updating then jailbreaking thanks
