It 8GB and came with 3.1.2

now every time i turn it off i have to use blackra1n to restore it..

is there anyway to stop this..

You must have the 3rd generation iPod right? Atm there is only a tethered jailbreak (What you have atm) There is no full jailbreak that has been released to the public... yet.

That's known as a tethered jailbreak, and apparently it's a 'feature' haha. There's no way around it at the moment sorry.

wahts a baseband ???

I don't have a specific definition for it but if you want to Unlock your iPhone you don't want to have the latest baseband because chances are you aren't going to be able to unlock. You shouldn't worry about since you got a iPod, you only need to worry about when the new jailbreaks come out.

I have the exact same problem.It's not that hard to plug in an iPod and click a button though

no because i like to turn my ipod off because other wise i the battery runs out 1once a day because i use it so mutch
