This is a detailed version for everyone stuck.

First. Download Ps3 proxy.
Now first you have to know what version. If you have Windows Vista then download : You must login or register to view this content.

You need winrar to open this file: You must login or register to view this content.

Ok once downloaded and opened the file you open the folder PS3.proxyserver then run the exe file inside of there.

You should have something like this

Ok next step.

Setup your ps3 proxy.

Where you see Ip address. In the above picture shows "0.0.0.0 you need to get the Ip for this.

To do this. Click on start. Go to run on in Vista users go to the search bar and search Run. next Type in cmd. And a black box should show.

Type in here Ipconfig and it should give you a list of things. Scroll up and you need to get the IPv4 Number. use this number in your PS3 Proxy IP

Make sure you keep the port 8080.

And click the Box which says PS3 MODE

Ok now to set this up on ps3.

Next step

Download Cod4 1.3 patch

Once you have your proxy setup and running Put in cod4 in your ps3. Making sure you delete the data save before.

Once you do this it will ask you to update 1.3 patch

before press X open Ps3 proxy server

Click the tab "LOGS" Shows at the top and then press X and after it download to say 1% press Circle

Go back to your pc and it should show were the patch has been downloaded from

Save this file to your desktop for easy access

Ok next You need Hex editor

Once downloaded open gamesave on the desktop using hex editor. To open with it either open Hex editor go. File- new File and open it from there or right click on the save where ever you saved it and right click and open with. Select Hex editor


7.Open With Hex Editor And Change The NuMber According To Your Region
EU(45) USA(4 Change The First Number You See Like This
To 00

8.In Top Right Corner There Should Be Six Digits Change To 00 00 26 or 00 00 21
Both Equal NULL

Change those 2. Once you done that go File and save.

Close Hex editor.

Next open Ps3 Proxyserver and click on the tab replace files

Click the tab at the top saying "ADD"
2 Boxes should show The right hand side you put in the direct link where the Ps3 download the patch 1.3 so

Then for the second box on the right hand cornor click that little box that looks like [.]

Find where you saved your Edited gamesave which should be on your desktop for easy access then your done.

Then you go back to your ps3 add your hacks "UFO"

Then copy them to your gamesave. Start cod4. Then when you update look at the ps3 Proxy server tab "LOGS" and it shows that your ps3 is download the file from your laptop/Computer.

This is the part everyone is having problems. The Patch dont seem to download from your laptop/pc and gives you an error.

I dont know how to fix this. Once i know ill update this post.

TO DOWNLOAD THE PATCH FROM YOU LAPTOP/COmputer Pull out your internet and it will bypass it. But for some reason now it dont let me use UFO it just moves my aimer fastt

yes i though i had it working until i noticed i didnt edit the save yet for some reason it downloaded on from my ps3 so these edits we're doing the patch aint liking it lol

Ingie, I'm using the method you said.. My PS3 is able to wired or wireless, and I've rigged it up to be wired at the moment.. But it won't connect, and it won't download the update? It won't even prompt me to start the download.

yes i have tryed it many times , i still get the error code . i can download the patch and put it on to my ps3 through proxy if i dont edit it but if i edit it like the tut says i get the error ??

I also get the error aswell, i think what ingie is trying to say is,

when you go click CoD4, accept the update, then unplug the wired enthnet cable from your ps3, then plug it back in, and it should download,

You need to disconnect your Internet connection but not your Local connection!

[SXG]ingie12345 i followed what you said (stop connection on the ps3 to do the patch via your computer) and it works fine, so stop abusin him ppl,

also you dont need to pull any wires out of the ps3 or anything, all you gotta do is sign out of playstation network.

the only thing that hasnt been coverd is the error message that I and most of you are getting, we now this so stop posting comments about it asking how to get round this problem because at the minute, no one is sure.
