Na shaun92 the patch was downloade in it's original state i have not edited it yet,the reason i want to make sure that the error is not coming from the edit it self.I also tried a map pack file wich i downloaded and it also failed during proxy it uploads but wont install.but i don,t think the way we are both using proxy is the problem because we both manage to get the file to download to the ps3 i think there might be a final file that gets downloaded aftre we download the patch (you know like a key to open a door) this perhaps opens a hole which will in return allow the install to continue. Now only if we can find that key.

However, that is actually a good thing because you're right- if an unedited patch won't even install it seems only logical that there's an extra authentication step somewhere after it connects to download the patch. Either that or being connected to the internet does affect installation because the PS3 tries to download the patch from two separate locations and gets confused. A good idea would be to delete the patch and go through the normal installation process (from the official server) and check the route it takes on PS3proxy to see if any other steps occur that could cause the error.
But what would be REALLY helpful is for someone who has got this to work (because there are people out there who have claimed to) to offer their advice on how they did it
