Activision has just revealed some information regarding DLC and some slight detail on Elite in Black ops 2.
A new page on the call of duty website tells us about the Season Pass of Black ops 2.
A new website on CallofDuty.com has revealed that Black Ops 2 will have a season pass for DLC: You must login or register to view this content.
The page is getting errors for some reason.
However someone managed to load it and here is what the page looks like:
Described as: "THE ULTIMATE WAY TO GET MORE OF CALL OF DUTY®: BLACK OPS 2"
So what do we expect?
"4 EPIC DLC MAP PACKS – 1 GREAT PRICE AT $10 OFF" Get 4 Call of Duty®: Black Ops 2 downloadable content Map Packs, delivering a variety of new content, including Multiplayer and Zombies playable content.
So buying the season pass will save you a total of $10 if you were to buy the map packs separately.
Retail price is estimated £34.99 so that seems about right for 4 map packs saving around £6.
Now no news whether or not it will be like mw3 and "content drops" but I'm hoping black ops 2 will bring us a similar quantity of dlc that mw3 had.
Elite
Elite will be free!
Thats right, we will not be paying for elite.
some features of Elite will include:
Player HQ: Track Black Ops II stats including recent match data, heat maps, challenge tracking and the ability to modify classes using the Pick 10 system
Clan HQ Join or create clans to participate in competitions
Zombies Leaderboards: Track your Zombie stats and compare to other players
Call of Duty Elite TV: Developer tips, strategy videos, custom class overviews and more
Social Integration: Notification system to stay updated on Black Ops II news, communicate with your clan and more
The Season pass is for DLC and supposedly unrelated to Elite.
More information on both of these to be announced soon.
Video just released by Activision about Elite 2.0.
Could care less about Elite being free or not but with the season pass being $50 + the game which is $60, looks like a total of $110 for the game with all DLC. $130 with the hardened edition.
Eh.. I kinda wish the season pass came with the hardened edition..
And it also looks like Xbox is gonna get all DLC first again so it looks like I'm gonna pre order the Xbox edition for the first time.
If the Season Pass is indeed unrelated to Elite, I think it is a step in the right direction. The MW3 Elite Content Drop system probably netted Activision a substantial sum of money, but this method of content delivery will surely be rated better amongst customers.
