(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Global games retail giant GameStop is predicting big things for the next Call of Duty.

The firm says that Black Ops II is the most pre-ordered in its history - and that this means the franchise could once again break records at release in November.

CoSad Awesome Black Ops II is due out globally on November 13th.

It follows on on from last year's CoSad Awesome Modern Warfare 3, and is the sequel to CoSad Awesome Black Ops.

The first Black Ops is in fact the most popular game in the series ever, beating out the Modern Warfare sub-brand which propelled the nine-year-old franchise in the limelight in 2007.

GameStop's bold claims came in a press announcement today that game service Call of Duty Elite will be free when the new game hits.

Launched last year, Elite formerly included subscription options that provided access to DLC and extra community features.

We are seeing the highest pre-orders in history.

With its current pace, this Call of Duty is on track to break records and is likely to be our biggest game launch of all time.

I don't care about records or any of that. I care about the game play and if they got rid of the lag compensation.

More ontopic: I'm not surprised. I think it's cause zombies are so big this year. People have already said they would buy a zombies only game, and they basically put 2 games in 1.

Why are you reading this?
its the same dumb story every year yes CoD is setting records again, WHO CARES. They make all this money, but can't provide dedicated servers for consoles. :dumb: It would make CoD much more enjoyable with dedi's and they could get rid of the horrible lag compensasion, instead they dump more and more money into TU's that "fix" lag comp.

They need to get rid of the split screen bullshit and add dedicated servers, take some notes from the PC Gaming community. :brilliant:

Lag compensation is present in every online game, with or without dedicated servers. It can actually be worse with dedicated servers. They just overdid it MW3. If they can revert it back to the pre-BOPs days it will be fine.

I'm surprised that BOPs2 is going to break records again given how poorly received MW3 was and how skeptical people are about a "futuristic" CoD. I will be surprised if it does in fact smash records again and even more so if it does so again next year.

I've been playing since Doom and Quake came out I'm very well aware of 'net code' (lag comp) and how it works. The fact that you say dedicated servers wouldn't make a difference is just ignorant. with peer2peer you are dependent on some random persons connection that may be some shit DSL connection, whereas with a Dedicated server it will be a guaranteed stable high-speed connection. It is really dependent on the location of a dedicated server, the further the server the higher your packets take to get to it (your ping in ms). Why do you think BOPS2 is making dedicated servers available to PC gamers? Because PC gamers know how much of a difference a dedicated servers make.

Where exactly did I say that dedicated servers won't make a difference? I also happen to play on PC so I am completely aware of the benefits of dedicated servers. It would be great if they re-introduced dedicated servers, but realistically it is unlikely and not everyone will benefit from them.

Cake is a lie
Oh goodie, now I'll be in line for 1.5 hours now :( COD games are polarizing. Unlike most things people talk shit about ie Justin Bieber, Kardashians...COD complainers buy the game, most DLC and play the shit out it. COD complaining is like that girl complaining about that boyfriend they refused to leave.

Plus it helps that every year delusional people convince themselves the previous game was great, current sucks and next will be epic. COD gets a lot of sells just from people constantly imagining the next game will be better. COD is addictive, faster paced that we think and is an overall easy game with great marketing. So you can't be surprised if it does all things considered. TV shows like ESPN First Take have a "Call of Duty Black Ops 2" sponsored green room.

Again your game is going to sell when you have great marketing, an established history and even the people who complain about your game the most buy it just as much as the people who don't if not more...
