That is a major issue then. I'm sorry to say this, especially since I liked what Treyarch did with Black Ops 1 (much better game than MW3 in my opinion and almost on par with MW2) but they should be ashamed if they implemented a probation penalty "punishment" system for rage quitters, dashboarders, etc. if the useless servers can't differentiate between intentional disconnects from quitters/dashboarders and server disconnect, host kicks, system freezes (one of which is currently their fault), lag, poor connection, etc.
The (let's say 15-20% which is a very high estimate; likely closer to 5%) of dashboarders leaving games to pad stats or just raging isn't a good enough reason to punish the 80-90% of players who occasionally face a few disconnects, host kicks, system freezes, poor connection, etc. every hour or so.
I've read too many threads on the primary forum for people getting undeserving probation penalties. The system is useless unless it can differentiate. I rather get kicked from a match and get a loss (1 every 7-8 matches or even 5-6 matches) than be forced to a face an undeserving probation even once in a day. I mean we already get free losses (at least in Black Ops 1) for spawning mid-match into crap fest matches. Now, we can probation penalties for quitting out of those crap-fest matches and a loss on top of it? This one top of the probation we get for matches that we get disconnected, kicked, unintentional connection loss, etc.
I mean Treyarch should have at least had the community vote on it with us having full knowledge that the useless servers wouldn't differentiate. Ever when the servers calm down in 1-2 weeks, we all know how reliable the useless Activision/Treyarch/Infinity Ward servers are.
Anyways, does anyone know how to post on the official COD forums? I would like to make my point to the admins there who have connections to the development team. Perhaps, they could patch the penalty to either allow the servers to differentiate (highly unlikely/not sure if possible) or just remove it altogether and improve it for future titles if they wish to implement it again.
They way it is currently set up is completely unfair. Especially, since apparently 3 disconnects, kicks, lost connections, freezes, etc. in 1 hour = 5 minute probation. Not sure if the probation times increase after each one but if they do, that's even worse.
