That would allow 20,000 people to go from 0-10th prestige.. 20,000 people!
Obviously not everyone went to 10th, so 20,000 is pretty likely the minimum number of people who did it.
Some people didn't go to 10th, some only did a few prestiges, making this number even bigger!

I'm amazed at how many people would be stupid enough to try to do this.

As soon as you watch the video treyarch can see so you will just get banned/reset within 7days confirmed on twitter, pretty pointless for anyone to attempt this. But I guess we learn from our mistakes.

Yeah I have already had a few friends tell me they got banned and reset for doing it. Even if it came to PS3 I would not bother trying it.

I highly doubt it will be a console ban, a stat reset and and maybe a temp ban at the very most, the difference with this exploit is that your only using a feature that was put in their game your not tampering with any files or using a cfw/jtag so don't expect very harsh punishments.
