The next time you think about glitching to prestige in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, you may want to take a quick look at Treyarch's Security & Enforcement Policy, which the company tweeted shortly after news of a new glitch started to spread among the Black Ops 2 community.
I'm not entirely sure of the process as I tend to level up the fair way, but it's said to involve watching a video on the built-in CoD TV. Doing so will let you instantly rank up to level 55 without the need to mod the game files, the consoles themselves, or hack multiplayer lobbies.
If you do decide to glitch the system, it doesn't look like you'll be able to enjoy your new rank for long. Treyarch has already tweeted: "Noticed a few “level 10” guys ruining the party for everyone…enjoy your new rank while it lasts. Solution (and demotions) incoming."
They then posted a follow-up tweet: "FYI...in the short term, Edited Films and Emblems will be unavailable. Back online as soon as possible."
Looks like they have figured out the source of the problem and are already working on a fix. Honestly though, why would you waste your time glitching? The whole point of repeatedly playing multiplayer is to rank up to Prestige level 10. Why would you cheat through the system and then have nothing to work towards?

Everyone seems to point at the Black ops prestige hack, and say, ooooohhh better watch out, activision does not mess around anymore, its not worth it, console ban.. But the difference then was, activision did not use a scare tactic, they just rolled out an update, and BAMMMM!! Console ban.. They did not warn anyone.. And now they are warning us, not to do this, because we will be reset.. LMAO!! I am more worried about the snitches in the lobby reporting me, than activision.. If activision could roll out an automatic ban, like they did in black ops, they would not be warning us.. They would do it the same way they did it in black ops, un announced, and unexpected.. My 2 cents...

I agree also because the video had over 200,000 views people could just say they were interested in watching the video and had no clue it would do what it done so they can not ban anyone because i bet a few innocent people say the amount off views and wanted to see what the fuss was about.

lol banhammer my ass. I just got on today and got a message saying "Your custom classes have been reset" so I was expecting to see a ban message after that. But nope, I just saw that it had me at Prestige 2 Level 55, which is weird because I was Prestige 4 when I did this glitch. They like 'system restored' some of my old stats onto my account and now I pretty much have the same stats as I did when I was Prestige 2 Level 55 on the game. It's really weird, but definitely no banhammer or even full reset. Like that Rocky guy said, just more stupid scare tactics about the banning. I could care less I was "reset" to where I'm at. Probably just gonna stay here now. Thanks Treyarch for keeping me at 55 so I don't have to rank up anymore at least.

I will never understand why people always go buck wild when this shit comes out. Its the people who are in the first couple of prestiges who have a couple of days played who skip all the way to 10th, like cmon 10th prestige with 3 days played doesnt seem like itll stand out to you? Might as well give yourself a 1 or 2 prestige boost and chances are you wont be noticed and banned....
