I found myself starting to like ARs more, right now forcing myself to use shotguns to get it diamond. (still fun that another reason why)
Some of my classes are SMGs and some are ARs.
Most of the maps suit ARs over SMGs.
Overall design of COD always suits ARs more. Map design is pretty much COD standard which means it can be frustating if you don't abuse it and somebody else is.

Which ARs would you recommend?

Yup, I find myself using SMGs every map. In fact I don't think I have any AR over 100 kills because the maps just suit SMGs more. I find that 9/10 if I went up against a guy with an SMG and I had an AR, I lost. It also doesn't help when I can kill someone across a map with an SMG as effectively as I would with an AR, just like the MP-40 in cod 5.

AN94 is nice if you found yourself liking AK47 from BO1. MTAR is kinda like an ACR from MW2. Don't have much more help on other AR's

I use the SMG class' guns way more than Assault Rifles. Meaning I have at least 700 kills with 4 different SMGS and only 700+ with 2 Assault Rifles. The game is more of a SMG orientated game based off the maps, objective points and Ghost/UAV usage. There are a few ways and maps where you can do well with other weapon types but unlike other COD games you can't rush with an Assault Rifle as recklessly as you can with SMG. You can definitely rush with them but you have more limitations.



Me personally I'd say FAL, AN94, Scar and M8A1 by far. I like single shots so I'd never do the whole full auto Fal thing. But semi Auto FAL with good trigger finger isn't the easiest gun but it's arguably the most devastating. You can rush with it but taking on 3+ enemies can be a little tricky so cover is needed more. Scar is actually underrated considering how fast it shoots and the damage. M8A1 is basically like a slightly lesser version of MW3's Type 95. If you are even remotely accurate it's probably best AR in the game just because it's easier to burst than single shot. AN94 has lots of damage, a manageable recoil and has the nostalgic AK47 feeling. My favorite AR is FAL which I just got gold with sight and extended mags. But I still have more kills with PDW and Vector lol

SMGs all the way and if i'm having a bad game, I will switch to Shotgun and escalate the noobiness until I get my way

Nah. I'm trying to get every gun on max level, so I can't use my SMGs because I'm done with them all already. Now I'm on the ARs and I find myself dying to SMGs a lot. But I can't wait to finish with everything so I can go back to using the guns I like.

Keep away from the following : SWAT-556, SMR
Rest are worth using. Ones I like are the following TAR , M27 and M8A1. But still need more time with type 25 , Scar H and AN 94
