(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I've recently started using sniper rifles to get them golden/diamond. However the problem is that sniping just isn't all that great. Now don't get me wrong or anything.. I've been using sniper rifles for the past week almost. So by no means have I recently started using them and made this assumption that sniping sucks.

The only real success with sniping I had was using an acog scope especially if you are used to running and gunning essentially. Sadly the problem I am having is the no attachments aspect of sniping. The maps are way too small to be using the regular scope unless you are playing on Turbine then it works out fine. But people tend to choose the maps that are extremely small in size so sniping becomes a hassle.

My opinion stands that sniping really isn't all that great. Opinion, tips and tricks anyone?

Sniping in this game is damn near as good and probably easier than in Modern Warfare 2 so I disagree.

Sniping especially with DSR 50 and Ballista is very easy and probably the most consistent weapon to not just get hitmarkers.

The problem is sniping as a class is clearly outmatched since the game promotes movement and faster pace. So by the time you pick off a few people a guy will flank you or just Target Find you.

Point is Snipers are an easy weapon class and are very powerful but the class itself struggles to help you have good games because of map design. If you limit quick scoping there are maps like Drone, Turbine(not on the plane), and Aftermath. The new snow map too.

Most snipers I play are those guys going negative, not defending flags or giving teammates cover or they'll end my streak by spraying that shitty SVU. Luckily Support is gone lol.

I find it very good and balanced.First few weeks i absolute sucked at it but after a while i got the hang of it and started going postive. The only tip i can give you are : Don't snipe in every map (go for turbine, drone, carrier (<- great one for me) and even stand off). Also if your sniping , don't move when you scope in.

So true. That is probably one of the reasons why getting these damn guns diamond is because I love rushing and going for the objective. I'm hoping by the time Revolution drops on PS3 there will be some maps that is worth sniping on, but I seriously doubt it. In the end I'll always question how people do nothing but snipe lol.

Sniper rifles are GREAT weapons and can be rewarding but being a successful sniper is difficult.

Most COD players struggle even with the easiest weapons to hat success with ie SMGs or Assault Rifles so putting a precision weapon in their hand lowers their chances. Contrary to the COD narrative most players rush and the amount of flank routes and how Ghost works makes sniping harder. Hell people even bitch when people "hardscope" which shows how ridiculous we are as a community lol. If you move in an out of cover and have a claymore and pistol/other primary backup you can do ok though.

Like I mentioned snipers can be VERY beneficial in holding choke points and defending objectives. Most Snipers literally sit in the back of the map aiming all game or they try quick scoping all game like idiots. I only snipe on Domination so I can pick people off flags but usually after a few deaths I grab an SMG lol. So short story is sniper rifles are easy but having success with them is hard. Which is weird.

The SVU imo can get really annoying if u die 1 off a high scorestreak by it. Oh it is also annoying when u get sprayed by it in S&Awesome face. I no longer even like S&Awesome face, it hasn't been the same since Black ops.

I got all my Snipe Camos+Attachments from Hardcore CTF Hijack. We usually Spawn and they would spawn right in front of us if you have the turbines and in the right spots

Honestly wish I could +rep people without a cap, but I agree so much! And talking about "hardscoping" I was literally playing last night doing some hardcore CTF and I got the game winning killcam and the first thing you hear out of the other teams mouth.. "You hardscoping piece of shit." I literally busted a nut haha. Also, can't disagree with holding off choke points. I was doing that last night and got quite a few bloodthirsty medals and like you said there are tons of flanking routes on all the maps, literally within two seconds of getting my bloodthirsty medal I got flanked and was killed. I instantly swapped to my SMG class lol. Sniping definitely has potential especially if you cover choke points and have a way of making sure you don't get flanked without camping in a corner.

Thankfully majority of people on CoD who quickscope don't have a clue on how to play the game correctly. Long as they aren't on my team I'm fine with it lol.

Only sniper I have gold right now is the SVU. Just to test the waters with it and I can say that sniping is hard as balls.
In order to be a good sniper you have to sort of camp and close off choke points. Objective gamemodes is the easy way of doing that vs TDM.
Not looking forward to using the other snipers.

Even the spammmy SVU still had to play it like a sniper. Rather use a SMR.
