It looks to me that you can play split screen with someone at your house a bit like halo

Nah, it's been confirmed as full splitscreen online on a Twitter update. We don't know how it'll be implemented, but it's definatly splitscreen for online, just for certain game modes (as in game modes with teams, and you'll be on the same team)
