Oh no, a developer released a game with a gimmick that kids that really aren't that good can't use for skill-less kills!!! What in the world will they do now!?!?!?!?!?
Don't worry, I'm sure the scrubs will find something else to exploit for easy kills that will not require skill.
And, just so you know: The Intervention weighs 31 pounds and is 51 inches long. Physics and commen sense say that quick sniping as it was done in MW2 was about as realistic as the Easter Bunny. Based on what I can tell about BO info I have seen the L96A1 is the one-hitter sniper rifle in Black Ops. It is still a very long 46.5 inches in length, but it only weighs 14 some odd pounds. The R700 and M40 from COD4 are about the same as the L96A1.
So, your complaint SHOULD be "Why was it
in MW2 with the CheyTac Intervention but
not in CO

BO?"
Here's the thought process: Video games should be as realistic as possible while still maintaining balance towards the final product a developer has in mind. This was how it was explained to me from a dev at Zipper. Quick sniping as it has been done in COD4 and MW2 is not realistic. On top of that it throws off the balance of all the other weapons.
Therefore, if Treyarch doesn't want people to be able to quick snipe just because, then get over it. And, if they don't want people quick sniping because, well it's completely fairy tale then get over it. And, the balance issue should be pretty self-explanatory.
But, what really does puzzle me about all of that....
Is, if it throws off balance and it is unrealistic, then why did they put explodable tip arrows in? Apparently those don't exist, within our military at least. I'm sure they are not too hard to make, but still unheard of none the less. Not to mention a cross-bow as well. A 5.56 round in the torso is going to have a higher probability of killing someone quicker than an arrow to the torso. So, that's a little puzzling.
And, then there's still the whole melee system in video games period. Every major video game today has a one hit kill melee system. Which, kind of falls in the whole that's BS realm. You should have to atleast stab someone in the heart, head, neck, or brain stem/upper spinal column for it to be a one hit kill. Or, aim your cross hairs at those areas. Other than those areas, a knife swipe and/or stab does not instantly kill someone? They actually have to bleed out if hit anywhere else. Not to mention you can instantly knife someone in these games. Like you are holding your knife in your hand at all times even while running around with a rifle. I think you should at least have to switch to your knife like you switch to your pistol.
So, am I happy they are attempting to reduce the nonsense in these games? Yes. I just wish they would try and take out all of the nonsense.
