Kotick also commented on the current state of Infinity Ward: “There’s at least 60 or 70 super-talented, amazingly capable people who are there. They shouldn’t have to suffer for the bad actions of a couple of guys. They have a great culture, they’re really good independent thinkers – incredible technology base.”

Once Treyarch learns how to code and gets better artists/designers they could actually make a good COD. Until then, they will remain the "B" team.
Last I checked both COD4 and MW2 were hacked an insane amount while w@w has remained for the most part in tact. I'd rather have a solid all around game that's fun to play, but maybe doesn't have the greatest appearance. Other than some infinity ward game where it looks real good, but it has a huge amount of flaws. I'd rather have people work on a solid game over just a flashy but flawed game any day.

Black Ops is flawed. And will be until they fix every issue.

There is just no excuse because IW has always delivered an identical product on both consoles and pc for all previous CODs without any issue. I never had to delete friends from PSN as well as cleaning up my messages to make games from IW run properly, but i have to do this to play black ops with out menu lag, framerate drops etc. /facepalm

its pretty pathetic when someone with an i7 920 and SLI GTX 480 has problems. Either treyarch sucks at coding or they are just lazy and after completing the 360 version, they decided to let their janitor handle port and quality assurance testing.
Keep in mind this is just my opinion of their coding. Treyarch ideas, creativity, support etc is great if you ask me.

I could not have said it better myself. Treyarch, in essence, is LAZY.
Some of thier ideas are cool, they just can't execute/implement them.

you are right about the hacks and black ops balance (best cod when it comes to balance), but you can still play the game (i.e. mw2 in particular) with hacks (elevator glitch, prestige hack etc. isnt going to slow down gameplay or cause freezinh/lag). They dont effect lag, fps drops, freezing etc. How they handled the port for the ps3/pc and the resulting afore mentioned effects (freezing etc.) is what we have a problem with.
Heres to hoping they can fix it, but my initial opinion of treyarch still stands until bops2 comes and there arent any issues on launch.

to bad they failed on the multiplayer of cod5, if the online game was a bit better than what it was i wouldnt have hated on cod5 for so long or treyarch, BO is a good game even with all its difficulties right now but the game isn't completely de-bugged yet either so in another month the game will most likely be better. everyone may compare it to mw2. i understand this even with mw2's servers crashing for a full day the next day the game was fine and didn't really have to be server patched at all. so with one update they correct everything, BO is still slacking with it's current patches maybe eventually it'll get better, but right now it's not as good as mw2 first was. look at it from that prespective and you'll understand.
and another thing it would have been better if they left out alot of the equipment that's sole purpose is to benefit campers, they say they are cutting back? bullshit they are liars, and to nerf the sniper rifles that bad is a joke.
