If I can remember correctly, Sony doesnt ban PSN accounts because of hacks or exploits. They said it's up to the developers to fix their game. Basically they're saying "IDC if your game is ****ed up"
How do you figure that? They did back on SOCOM Combined Assault. Maybe thats because Sony had just bought Zipper, so SOCOM was their baby, but they would SOFT BAN and then PERMA BAN the unique disc ID.
When the PS3 first came out, they were trying to make it harder to make new PSN accts by requiring a unique credit card # for each new acct.
And with Treyarch's 'SECURITY ENFORCEMENT GUIDELINES' that they released they clearly state:
*Instant permaban. You will no longer be allowed to play the game online. Console users who modify their hardware
or profile data will also be reported to the console manufacturers.
That reads anyone who modify's their profile data, not just modifying the hardware. Why would they report you to the console manufacturer if not to have your PSN acct banned?
