I remembered doing this back in the WaW days to get my own lobby to do the bootcamp glitch, but it also has it's advantages in Black Ops.

You have to be host in order for this to work properly (easier if you have a party)

What this does is, it gives you 4 Green bars while everyone else has Yellow or Red Connections, giving you a HUGE advantage over other players having 2x better connection speed.

And it very simple to setup, and some of you may already know this, so dont flame ..LOL

Directions:[/size]

First goto Console settings then Language

You must login or register to view this content.

Then goto Locale

You must login or register to view this content.

From here, pick a far away counrty, like chile or somethin, somewhere where 90% of the players are connected to a 28k modem ..LOL

Next, Start Black Ops, then Change your Search Settings to Local Only

Make sure you don't join a game, but start a new lobby to make sure you are host.

(Again, easier if you have a party.)

Now watch your green bar shine while their red bar dwindles, making it easier to PWN

How you can tell when your Host[/u]

Right after the map loads, before the countdown hit the "start button" to bring up the list of everybody in the room, if you have 4 GREEN bars light up before everyone else, you are the Host.

To get Host alot you will need at least a;

Sometimes it takes a few games to gain host, especially in Ground War, but you can tell when the old host leaves the room when everybody score resets to 0 before the next round.

There are a few methods for PS3 you can use to have the Same affect, but you have to turn it off and on, every 30 seconds, or you get disconnected. Kinda Annoying ..LOL

1st. Method is Standby

On the side of some modems there is a little button called standby. This enables you to lag within Black Ops Multiplayer.

To use in-game, just hold the standby button to Lag the room, then let it go to resume (Lag time varys. from 10 to 30 seconds) Not all modems have one though. Which brings me to..

2nd. Method is using Net Tools 5.

First you will need to download Net Tools 5 from You must login or register to view this content.

Okay once that has downloaded you want to install it and open it up.

Next, Click start, network tools and then click on UDP flooder ( you have to scroll down through tools to find it)

A box should open up saying 127.0.0.1, you have to change that to 27.27.27.27

Below that, it will say "data" add a space then copy and paste it repeatly like so Data Data Data Data Data Data Data ( doesnt matter how many times just fill the box)

Finally there is a speed line you want to change the value from 0 to 10

Click start to freeze everbody and stop or spacebar to unfreeze (Again i wouldnt freeze more then 20 seconds, or you might get disconnected)

For ps3, you gotta make a new psn and choose your country when you creating your new psn. Just tested myself and region changed like it was supposed to.

You could always run the host test.

  1. Edit your clan tag.
  2. Add the following to it:

    • (A Space)

    • Any thing you want but no more than 2 characters

    • (A Space)

      • Should look like this after words:

        • [ hi ]

  3. You'll notice that the spaces stay when your the host.

If the spaces disappear, then your not the host. If they stay your the host.

If your connecting to people with horrible Internet, then by default you should get the host, because the game will determine you as the best connection to host.

im guessing this host thing dont work for ps3 cos mine always stay and im never host

Host migration kicks in way too fast for me when I use nettools, within like 5 seconds.
