I was playing with a few guys last night and one of them said during the game I almost got you there my reactions arn't what they were used to be. Now the guy I was playing with could be just using it as an excuse because he got out gunned but that got me thinking do you get worse at playing the game as you get older wouldn't your playstyle and skills compensate for the reaction speed we all lose eventually as we get older and older.

I looked at some of the top players on youtube like Sandy, xjawz, xSocrates etc, and most of them are in there mid teens and early twenties.

So I thought I'd ask you all do you find yourself getting better at the game or worse at the game as you get older.What age do you think you peak at playing ,or does age not come into it at all
can you play the game the same way if you were in your 50's rather then your 20's?
or is it all down to things like your playstyle, map knowledge, skills, etc

no i dont think age affects your skill . Unless your a toddler or a senile grandma you can do good if you know how to play . There directors for COD in machinama that are in their mid 40s.

I'm 32 and i have no complaints on my reaction time.

I think you have better reaction in your teens but your at your peak probably during your early twenties. Because your strategies can make up for your reaction.

This, As you play more you gain more skill.

now is my peak and im 18 and a year ago i did a little worse but you cant really get better thatn 1.60 with 70000 kills

Lets say not reactions. But what are reactions really? they way you act towards something right? Well i believe with age some people's hearing worsens and well their vision get a little worse too. And i mean when playing a FPS like COD you realy on the sound of footsteps and your vision. If you can't hear someone coming then your reaction is slower and its at a disadvantage. I mean the sences getting worse come with old age and the effects of all the Loud concerts you went to and all the booze you dranked. Anyways some people old age don't lose those sences so it varies. but yes age can affect game play.
