Now we see people saying stuff about Blackops and how rubbish it is and how much it fails, now I think I know why this is and I have even given it a title "The Drug Addict Effect". When people start taking strong drugs it is rumoured that they are chasing the feeling that they first felt when they started taking drugs.

Call of Duty 4 was a game that started us all off on a wonderful high and started something that the gaming world was not expecting. Call of Duty 4 was and will always will be the best game of all time and the reason for that is that this game took gaming to an all new level. Every person going was playing COD4, no FIFA, no Halo, no B.F, no other games at all just COD4 and people was playing this game for months. The community played together and enjoyed the game and everything was perfect.

Now World At War came out and it jumped back to the 2nd World War and it seemed that the game took a step backwards and alot of people either moved onto other games like Halo, B.F, FIFA and even stayed on COD4. The point being we had started to lose that feeling where everything was perfect and everyone was happy.

Modern Warfare 2 was again back with I.W and alot of people loved it and played it alot more than they played WAW but yet again the feeling was still missing that we had when we had COD4.

Blackops I think is boring but is that because we are bored of Call of Duty or are we just chasing that first feeling so much making the drug addict effect all the more present. I do think though that Treyarch will never be able to give us the fun they we are after and the reason for this is, I.W are the ones that raised the bar and gave us the standard that we all expect and crave for so for me I will be looking towards I.W for the answer to our boredom.

Great thread.

I'd like to say that I'm the opposite thinker though. I'm the guy who laughs at people who say, "yeah man old school games on SNES were the shit"...I'm the guy who generally thinks newer is better.

I think COD4 was a good game, and there were less things to abuse, keyword LESS. Also it was the first like already stated, so of course it's good. But I also think we look back on older games with rose colored glasses.

I made a thread right before BO came out warning all the people were literally jizzing intheir pants and acting like TreyArch was the 2nd coming of the Lord.

People acted like MW2 was the worst game ever when in reality it wasn't. Noobtubing and boosting were annoying, and it was a game where if you didn't know how to avoid getting tubed as much as possible you'd hate it.

Black Ops takes a little more skill than MW2 did as far as not being able to depend on shooting a ****ing grenade in the air and getting a multikill at the beginning of the map.

I'm a wrestling fan, and like in Boxing and in any sport you need a villian. Black Ops doesn't have that, outside of 2nd Chance users. MW2 you had Tubers, Boosters, Quick Scopers, Commando and that pissed people off.

Black Ops is pretty cut and dry. So in conclusion it's a mix of people OVERHYPING what Black Ops would be and Underrating what MW2 was.

COD4 might be the "best" to some of you, but no way I'm going back to that with lack of a lot Killstreaks haha. Even though I miss a good M16

You guys can try and keep coming up with reasons why we are all fed up with the game, but you'll never getting it. You keep making the situation too complex. Keyword, COMPLEX, like every new CoD. Too much stuff in the new ones, which make them slower. When people see the Call of Duty title, what do they think? Run and gun, right? So when there's too much, the game slows down, people don't have fun. CoD4 had it right, pistol as secondary, NOTHING else. ONE grenade, stun flash and smoke as support. 3 perk tiers. That's it, short but sweet. Simple and to the point. Nothing was too complex. No pro perks, equipment, launchers, death streaks, cod points. Nothing.

CoD4 will forever remain the best because it was simple. And this whole problem, is as simple as that.
