First of all I gave the sony guy my info....

Sony: How Can we help u?

Me: I'm just calling regarding a ps3 I bought 3 weeks ago. The problem is that I got Black Ops yesterday and I tried playing online and it had an error saying it has permaban.

Sony: I can't help you with this you will have to call Activision. The number is 1-800-225-6588(actual number).

Now The whole of this call was to get a way to change my mac address to play online....

Now I call Activision:

Activision: Have you called this number b4 or send us an e-mail?

Me: No....

Activision: Can u give me ur # and name plz....(i then gave him my info)

Activision: How can I help u?

Me: ( told him same story i told sony )

Activision: Go back to the store where you bought the ps3 and tell them they sold you a console that is no longer working for black ops....(This is the part where i shit my pants)

Tell them to give you an exchange....



Me: So they sell me a device that is no longer working....

Activision: Yes, Just for Black Ops....Other games online should work fine....But gamestop is aware of this situation they should no what to do....

NO ****ON WAY ACTIVISION IS NO LONGER UNBANNING FROM BLCK OPS....

Now I'm going to call SOny and tell them that the guy from Activision told me that I have to call them back and tell them to make me a new system name( "console id/mac address" whatever you wanna call it....this will then be no more console ban:420: )

Don't flame me please just trying to figure out how to change the mac address so nextgen community can play blck ops again:shh:


UPDATE: Sony can't do anything I spoke with the technical support supervisor....They are unable to do anything....He said only Activision can unban you....that means they can but don't want to....[/SIZE]:cry:

IW have already said they will be using Treyarch model for ban checking. So something else will need to be watched. It's in IW's forum, where they admitted they won't be relying on console security. Going forward MW3 will be hacker aware.

Either they can unban from the server. Or you are going to have to SPOOF the MAC address because the MAC address is embedded on the Hardware. If their is a way to ban then there is a way to un-ban...nothing is permanent, take a permanent marker or instance....

They are not unbanning and there is no way you can change your mac address by calling sony as proven....BUT, u can either change it somehow by linking ur computer to ur ps3 or using ftp server....:420:

I didnt say change...I said SPOOF... and if they can ban there is a way to unban for sure...

like sony is going to be like yea you can change ur mac here is how..... ok well you can change it and i showed how. and sony says you cant hack the ps3 that went well... /facepalm

actually their is a possible mod out for ps3 using multiman being tested that can change the ps3's mac address
