First of all I gave the sony guy my info....

Sony: How Can we help u?

Me: I'm just calling regarding a ps3 I bought 3 weeks ago. The problem is that I got Black Ops yesterday and I tried playing online and it had an error saying it has permaban.

Sony: I can't help you with this you will have to call Activision. The number is 1-800-225-6588(actual number).

Now The whole of this call was to get a way to change my mac address to play online....

Now I call Activision:

Activision: Have you called this number b4 or send us an e-mail?

Me: No....

Activision: Can u give me ur # and name plz....(i then gave him my info)

Activision: How can I help u?

Me: ( told him same story i told sony )

Activision: Go back to the store where you bought the ps3 and tell them they sold you a console that is no longer working for black ops....(This is the part where i shit my pants)

Tell them to give you an exchange....



Me: So they sell me a device that is no longer working....

Activision: Yes, Just for Black Ops....Other games online should work fine....But gamestop is aware of this situation they should no what to do....

NO ****ON WAY ACTIVISION IS NO LONGER UNBANNING FROM BLCK OPS....

Now I'm going to call SOny and tell them that the guy from Activision told me that I have to call them back and tell them to make me a new system name( "console id/mac address" whatever you wanna call it....this will then be no more console ban:420: )

Don't flame me please just trying to figure out how to change the mac address so nextgen community can play blck ops again:shh:


UPDATE: Sony can't do anything I spoke with the technical support supervisor....They are unable to do anything....He said only Activision can unban you....that means they can but don't want to....[/SIZE]:cry:

Can gamestop call and have a playstation unbanned? I Will check it out in the morning. LOL I bet they can.

It's not that they don't want to unban people, well..wait. I take that back, yeah they don't. But more importantly than everything else, the Black Ops servers aren't controlled by Sony, they are infact controlled by Activision which has a contract with Sony. So, in all fact I'm pretty confident when I say that Sony is not bullshitting you when they say they can't unban you.

Edit : For the people going out there and buying new PS3s, Sony is making money off you. So even if they could unban you, why would they want to? And they have a reason too, most of us used the modified eboot.bin (myself included), we got caught. We failed.

Well, if the PS3 is used you probably won't get all that much for selling it.

If you purchase a used PS3, there's a possibility of running into a pre-existing ban on Black Ops with another console that's used.

Thus, to ensure you have a console which hasn't been banned yet, you would need to purchase a new for around 300$ USD, unless you find some better deals. Just my personal opinion, but good point.

how bout buy a used ps3 switch it with yours and refund it....:420:
