Every time i go to run Call Of Duty: Black Ops it gets to that cut-scene (The one with the classified files and the treyarch logo) and just freezes,

I know it isn't the disk because the disc works 100% on my friends Ps3, Also i rented a copy of Black Ops and yet again, It crashed, Only on
my Ps3.

My Ps3 has 3.55 CFW, So i was wondering if that was causing the issue so i switched to 3.55 OFW and yet again, It still crashes.

I've tried backing it up using every available Back-up manager out there, But no prevail, The progress bar just remains at 0% and doesn't copy.

Finally, I was thinking about formatting my Ps3 or updating to the newer firmware, What do you think will it work?

By disc drive do you mean my Ps3 probably won't read the disks? Because other discs work fine.
And if it is my Ps3, Could Formatting fix it?

I can back up all my homebrew and pirated games onto my PC, But will it force my to update to 3.56 OFW?

Damn it, Right, So if i format i'll have to go to 3.56, also will i get console banned? For previously having homebrew?

Delete your Black Ops Game Data and see if that works.
