is there really anything that will help you play the game from prestiging?

All you keep is your leaderboard statistics and everything in your playercard (your emblem, background, and clan tag).

You may gain an extra class or other different customization options depending on what prestige you are moving on to.

so its kinda pointless?

Well actually a lot of people find it very rewarding. After a while, the game gets boring, this is a fun refresh. Its enjoyable to do, you get more options to customize your playercard and your classes as well as getting more classes to customize. Furthermore, most people see those that are a higher prestige in a better light, someone who is a "superior" player.

I prestige for the extra slots and the fact that it gets boring at lvl 50 after a while.

I'm prestiging to get to gold camos. If you don't prestige then it will get boring real quick.

I prestige for gold guns, and because being lvl 50 gets boring. and the prestige icons look better aswell
