Few things you need to know, if your going to use them for CONSOLE gaming the LOGITECH F540 are 7.1 SIMULATED SURROUND SOUND which mean 1 speaker in each ear using sound drivers trying to reproduce 4 in each ear. Astro's are TRUE 5.1 so are TRITTON AX PROS the competition here is that ASTROS A40's ARE WIRELESS where Tritton's are wired I own Tritton's and have used ASTRO'S I am not an audiophile but I know my $hit and CAN NOT TELL THE DIFFERENCE. Astro's are running like $269 come with amp and case, Tritton Pro's are running $180 no case and wired UPSIDE here is they can be used PC,PS3&XBOX, Astro's you need to buy an additional PS3 CHAT cable for $15 bucks. In Sept. SONY is releasing WIRELESS headset also like Logitech 7.1 SIMULATED, I'm sorry but I will take TRUE 5.1 over SIMULATED 7.1. If your PC gaming then LOGITECH makes a true 7.1 surround sound headset I forgot the model number.
