I don't really know if this is just happening to me or anybody else, but my connection is great overall, my NAT type is open, although every time I start up the game and go to multiplayer, it freezes at the main menu (Playstation Network, Local, Options, Store) for about 5 seconds. Another freezing point is when I open up my in game friends list, it takes like a 7 seconds freeze. This also slows down my XMB when i open it up. During gameplay...(This is when it really pisses me off). Almost every game I play, I will always freeze lag. (it's not my connection) It just gets me mad when I am shooting an enemy and lose because the second I shoot, I start to freeze. For about 5 seconds of freezing, I watch the killcam and it shows me standing still. Anybody know what I can do to fix this problem? By the way, my disc is really clean, no fingerprints or any scratch. It only happens in Black Ops

its just the game. U know PS3 got screwed from treyarch. I know mine freezes when im trying to accept a friends invite. There is times my ps3 will freeze during a game.

phew i thought it was my ps3 or the game but by the sound of it its treyarch mine always does this when i try to go online

Mw2 did this to me at times, Take the game out and clean it with a tissue this should work

^^^ mw2 would never freeze my ps3 or take forever to load.

Here is the fix:

Erase all messages, every sent and received messages.

I had like 5000 messages and the game was laggy and now it works fine ^^

I live in an apartment which has it's own isp for everyone, had a few recent quick power outages and my net was running like sh*t. I would have four bars always and never lag until the outages and then I was lagging, timing out, freezing, etc. Call them up and let them know and they might have something to say. Not sure if this would apply to your situation but it helped me out.

I don't live in an apartment though.

Have to turn off the ps3 from the plug every time
