Zombies won't work.. It won't start even without modded patch! The game doesn't even load..

Unsure if the problem is resolved, but there's a few things since you included minor information.
An EBOOT is required to run the modified Fast File. You know this.
But if you aren't on a patch <= 1.09, then it won't work. 1.10 and above have the 3.60 Firmware requirement and newer Sony (NPDRM) keys.

If you are getting an "Out of memory"; then the EBOOT you have is running too much. Maybe the patched EBOOT is at max capacity? - Question: "Where did you get the EBOOT from?"
If you are getting only a black screen, then the FF should be replaced and check if another one is capable of running. If not, the solution is newer EBOOT or patch.
