more specifically the intervention.
is no longer a 1 hit 1 kill gun with the fmj unless the person you shot at already has damage taken to them.
i like to quick scope and i know when i miss or not and i wasn't missing my shots because i got the hit markers, even at point blank range (less than 5 meters)
why does iw have to mess with the sniper rifles? it's bad enough that they lack the power of their real life counterparts, yet alone being weak without fmj attached, you need 2 shots to the head to kill without fmj. wtf?

Yeah and it's real life counterpart is not used to run and gun by quick scoping so........

i noticed this earlier... i got more hitmarkers in 3 games today than i normally get in about a week!

even at one point where i wasnt quickscoping.. i had a solid hard scope to the upper body and got a hit marker :S

yeah i was getting hit markers with the 50 cal too today. like a bunch of them. im not sure if tht was effected too but this seriously is getting GAY!!

Actually, the range affects the damage, the more distance the more damage. That worked, so I took off ACOG and started doing some long range scopes and I killed 'em with one shot.

I really haven't noticed any changes, but I am playing on Xbox, maybe this was something that happened on the PS3?

If so then this sucks a lot more, but some games I get loads of hit markers in some games and it others little. But really the intervention should be a osk on the waist up, the manuals claim that it is but it rarely seems that is the case. Ive slo-mode some of my shots, hit where the heart would be, hitmarker.

At times Ive taken 3 shots to kill somebody, each hitting, with SP.

i play ps3 and i usually snipe with the barret silenced with stopping power, as you may or may not know the silencer does reduce damage on snipers so even with stopping power its only a 1 hit kill chest up, not stomach like it normally is. ive been getting 1 hit kills all day and that requires a better aim and being more accurate than normal.(like sniping unsilenced without stopping power)

if your using the intervention, unsilenced with stopping power so long as you hit them anywhere but the limbs its a 1 hit kill, very easy and a very simple shot.
ive tested it in private games, you can too and you will see its always 100% correct when you line up the shot and aren't affected by lag or poor aim.

il say this for the 1000th time, FMJ only affects damage when a bullet has gone through a surface, it does not affect bullet damage normally, the stat bar in game is wrong. if you don't believe me practice shooting at different body parts with fmj and without fmj in a private game, there is no difference in damage whatsoever.

the snipers have not been edited, patched or nerfed in any way on PS3. if you get hitmarkers and cannot explain it ask yourself this? did you have a 4 bar connection? if not lag is a factor.
Did you hardscope every shot? if you quickscope there is no way on this earth you can 100% tell me you hit them in a specific spot.

not all my shots were quick scopes. a few of them were hard scopes when i spawned near the area that someone killed me at i was looking for them through my scope, found them, then shot them in the chest with FMJ and only got a hit marker. and they were only about 20 meters from me and the interventions hardscope FMJ 1 shot range (while holding breath) used to be about a good 100+ meters. so no its not a 1 hit kill anymore unless the person your shooting at with the gun already has had damage taken to them from someone else. (tested that out in a FFA on Afghan Public Match.)
i can understnad the models being adjusted. i mean for akimbo shotguns the accuracy should be so horibble it's better to use just 1 shotgun, but instead the akimbo rangers and shotguns are the things that need power lowerings. not the sniper rifles. its bad enough that they were weak before.

@ ash since i can't quote you with me being on ps3 and your giant walls of text.

quick scoping is the most accurate form of "sniping" on mw2 if you understood how it works you would know why. to quick scope if anyone didn't know is as soon as your scope closes in and the cross hairs meet is when you shoot. your bullet flies anywhere in the reticule normally but when that reticule closes in at the second your scope comes up is 100% accurate with no holding your breath and is about the only time a sniper rifle is at it's deadliest and a real threat. even on skid row i switch off FMJ for a ACOG and at close range WAS a 1 hit kill even without FMJ. cant do it now. i never used stopping power on my snipe class and still always got 1 hit kills with just FMJ attached. now after a while 1.09 came out i just started sniping again and noticed this. as i have said before i never had this issue before this new patch.
