What you need to do is simply unplug your Ethernet cable from the back of your PS3. If you do not have an Ethernet cable in your PS3 and you are wireless you can just quit the game while in the match and leave to the XMB screen.
If you are on XBOX360 you can pull out your Ethernet cord or dashboard.

I know a lot of you knew this, but I'm sure some people just never thought of it.

yeah you can just do the Timing Out method.. like said but it might be quicker to go to XMB

On Xbox just sign out and sign back in. I find that faster than dashboarding

Best is that my internet sucks that much that if it gets disconetced it lets me play like 5 more minutes, then I can just get 1 - 100 and not count
