You have to play with a player to see how good they are. I have friends who have really high killstreaks and ratios but are completely useless. If I'm playing domination I want someone who is going to run there bollocks off going for flags and being a general pain in the arse to the other team. It's all about how good they are at working as a team and winning the game. High stats do nothing but give people a big head.
This. You really have to play with someone to get a feel of how good they are. It also depends on their style of play. In my opinion, a rusher and sniper with a 1.9 k/d is MUCH better than a major camper with a 2.5 k/d.
It all really depends on your definition of what being a good player actually means. Your definition could be someone who sits in a corner and gets a ridiculously high k/d ratio. It could also be someone who plays only for the objective, has an extremely high score, but has a k/d of .75.
My definition of a good player is someone who maintains a decent k/d, plays for the objectives somewhat, and most importantly:
