Lot of stuff flying around, lets simplify it.


1. HOW IS MW2 HACKED ONLINE? INFECTIOUS WHO, AIDS!!???
People have figured a way to edit the game data/save files for PS3 games now by editing the data on the HDD via PC and sending it back as if it was never touched so PS3 thinks its untampered etc.

2. PS3 IS HACKED?! YAAAYY I KNEW IT
No its not, Sony's box is still safe and sound. The only thing people have done is edited a game's file without it or the PS3 detecting it. The PS3 itself is still secure, no Jtags of any kind, fully encrypted yet.

3. IS IT GONNA BE FOREVER? LIKE CHRIS BROWNS TUNE?
No, Infinity Ward will most likely bring out a patch soon (maybe with new maps) to fix this. It will prob add some different encryption to the files so no more editing can be done. Its nothing like jtag, its nothing to do with the PS3 security itself, only the game files. But its possible they could counter the patch if IW release one and be able to carry on. Not sure how long they could go for until either IW or the hackers stopped trying

4. WHO FOUND IT, I WANNA SEND EM A COOKIE?
For MW2 it seems to be hunter128, and now i've been told he also did it for cod4 and waw too.
the principle is pretty much the same due to the similarity of the game files, so guessing after finding out how to do it for cod4 they could easily transfer the knowledge over to mw2 etc.

5. IS IT FOR MW2 ONLY? OR COD4? OR BOTH?
There are the modded lobby hacks available for COD4 and MW2 and WAW - all the main COD games have different types of hacks for them. most have super speed, aimbot, knifing but there are the game specific ones like ac130 rapid firing etc

6. WHAT CAN I DO WITH IT?
On cod4 you can do a lot more stuff so far
1. aimbot
2. laser attatchment
3. infinite ammo like noobtubes etc
4. super speed
5. possibly more but i aint seen all of it yet

MW2
1. super speed
2. all care packages to ac130 (or anything you want)
3. really weird knifing from a mile away
4. rapid ac130 firing
5. more being unlocked and found as we speak, this is all new so there will most likely
be other stuff coming

7. I WANNA DO IT? HOW I DO IT?
On both cod4 and mw2 you can become infected with it. this means whenever you join a game or lobby with someone who has done it before it will become attached to you as well (like AIDS). it wears off after you sign off or reboot PS3. you also only get super speed i think.

To have it permanent as well as the other hacks like ac130 in care package you need to have joined a lobby directly with the founder or someone close to them .

8.WHERE IS DA TUTORIAL MAAN?
hunter128 has said no tutorial which is kinda lame right now but they could change mind later. HOWEVER, as it was done on COD4 earlier by others its likely it will be released to the masses quickly, and the principle will be the same as COD4 and MW2 are quite similar

This point in the modding stage of a game is the best. When everything is all touch an go. And its rare to see an actual modder doing it.

Bask in this moment everyone. Because this is the wake before the dawn and a tidal wave to be ahead. Anybody around when halo 2 started will tell you, the game is about to start sucking....

Actually no, the game sucks since the multiplayer was made lol
I say mw2 has the worst multiplayer of all COD, so this mods will only make it better (while only possible in private)

i agree that mw2 sucks overall but mods will only make the bad worse...

I just find it funny how "everyone" is now trying to hack their HDD's. I hope they fail tbh.

haha SOO true me too everyone jumping and buying their SATA cable then you see on this forum how to Decrypt HDD?

Pubs are boring now. So hopefully all the good infections will get released. Maybe not into pubs but it would still be fun as hell.
