EDIT I found the dummy file. what 3.30 does is jumbles where the start of the dummy hex appeared. mine appeared near the start of the file not the midde. correct me if im wrong

Okk my winhex looked exactly like that man. it did take me over 4 hours to find the dummy file. but all u need 2 do is read the start of each coloured section (SECTOR) and look for repeating patterns

Are we supposed to look for repeating patterns horizontally (like repeating pattern of bytes on the first line in one sector) or as in sectors that are exactly the same and repeat over and over. On mine the first pattern of sectors starts immediately with "06" as the first byte. After a while the sectors stop repeating. Then another pattern appears starting with "E1". This pattern repeats for ages (like more than half of the whole thing). Then i think it stops repeating with some other random sectors then the "06" pattern starts again. Then it stops repeating and looks random again til the end. Can someone please tell me if im close to finding the dummy file. I'm on 3.30 btw.

Okk i was wrong this is what ur actually looking for. the repeating pattern means ur looking for a sector (COLOURED AND WHITE) that appears more than once. THAT IS THE REPEAT then copy the 1st 16 bytes of that sector.
