I'm not some random n00btard, I've got over 40 days of play time between a handful of cod games so I've had enough experimenting lol. When I play on my wired connection I've got harriers and pavelows raping all day. Use the tv in the next room on wireless, I can't get a fn uav.

Some matches nobody can catch you, bullets spray 3 feet behind you all day and you are unstoppable, 3+ kdr. Switch lobbies and you go 10-25?!??

Sometimes I think skill has little to do with either of those scores, good or bad. I'm pretty sure I didn't all of a sudden turn into a crappy player, then get good again 30 min later.

It depends. If you're talking the difference between a 2 or 3-bar connection vs a 4-bar connection, then skill would most likely prevail. But if you're talking a 1-bar vs a 4-bar, then connection makes all the difference.

I would love an awesome connection all the time and it does give anyone an advantage.
Skill is a relative term, involving target aquisition, strategy, map knowledge and a host of other factors. Getting rounds on target the quickest wins and connection speeds heavily influence that ability.
It did not seem that COD 4&5 had this issue as much, but I hope 7 has an option to choose regional players or something to create more consistency in the connection speeds.

Hell no! CoD4 has really really bad host advantage that I quit a game right away if most people don't have 3 bars or more. I could empty an entire AK clip into a guy, then he kills me with 2 bullets of an mp5 Not Happy or Sad

MW2 actually has only a slight host advantage... but it's the latency that makes you get shot by someone, even though you were already in the doorway

Million Miles Of Fun!
Both if a player has a slow connection (under 90kb/s or so, NOT 90mb/s) with a bad ping even if they see the other player first and shoot that is more time it takes for that players packet data to be sent and received by the server usually making them end up dead.

I am dead serious, if you have a crappy connection its pretty hard to get kills, because if you have a bad connection it will end up like this...

1. You shoot at target ends up damaging
2. target shoots at you, the lagger
3. you shoot again within a matter of seconds yet it doesnt kill your target as they already healed by the time your packet data was reciveved by the server due to a lousy connection.
4. he shoots one bullet
5. hes healed but you think he is not, your dead
6. you complain WTF!?

Thats really how it works, a better connection does give you an advantage. Also the above reason is why some players such as myself can NEVER get a kill with something such as an UMP in 3-4 shots, it always takes me at least six as by the time my data is received he has already been partially healed..

And even the difference between a REAL 4-bar and a 3-bar isn't too different but the 4 bar will have the BEST ping making their packet data be sent and received faster. It does make a difference...

Try finding people with bad connections(Ping comes first then connection, unless connection is HORRIBLE(and I mean HORRIBLE) then it matters. But try to find people that have a bad ping or connection hosting? It WONT happen, if you cant even host a few people(my max is 4, even they lag) then you are NOT suited to be playing online games.

Are you high?
connection plays a major part most of the time put it this way i would rather be host than not especially cod4 i aint no 1bar warrior lol thats why you get host whores on cod4 (people with shit connection) everyone has 1-2 bars while the host runs round allday getting easy kills

Does playing people from other countries effect game play?
Is there 1 server for the world for each gaminig system?
I was never really sure of the path my signal travels.
