If your PS3 has firmware 3.30 or above you can't do the lobby.
After reading another 3000 page's LOL I found this quote from the Unkn0wn...

After thinking about it a while I though maybe just maybe you need this to do the hack?

Get the data from the 3.30 or below, Decrypt it and do the editing you need to do.
Now put the data back onto your PS3 with firmware 3.30.

In settings > system > Transfer data.
You can send data from one PS3 to another.
So send this from the firmware 3.30 to another PS3 with the latest firmware so you can go online.

That's just my theory.
Hate it or love it, But don't forget I may be wrong !

Well I know it sounds a little weird but after reading up loads of info this is what I came across.
And you can't downgrade your PS3 firmware.

But please please PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong lol.

spending vbux, offer me..
There was a video of somebody downgrading but nothing really came of it...

But yeah... also you cant transfer data between PS3s that are on different firmware (tried it) and from what unkn0wn said about the HDD being checksummed, I dont think that would be a new addition to 3.30 or a firmware... I think that will have been there from day 1 (just what I would think)

Do a barrel roll!
You posted a quote from the Unkn0wn, but he also said decrypting the HDD is not the way to do.

I know the unknown and hunter said loads of things... But could this be because we were getting close and he wanted to send us off course?

Trust me, this isn't the case. There is a lot less security on the 3.15 compared to the 3.30

It is a possibility, but there must be a reason why people arent able to run compressed patches that they have edited and writen back onto the HDD... The HDD having a checksum could be the reason for this
