(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello NGU, it has come to my attention that I don't think the .pkg file has anything to do with actually modded modern warfare.
What I mean by that is what Ihatecompvir said in his post that sony keyed their .pkg, well I was thinking you could download a Ps3 Iso loader, and load a pc verison that's been modded on your ps3, But the down side is you would need a phat playstation 3 and you would also need to downgrade your firmware to atleast where you could put linux back on your ps3.

Here's a video of a iso loader
[ame=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qd-OBizsKsQ]YouTube - REAL PS3 ISO LOADER!!!!!!!!!!! SHOWS AS OTHER OS REALL!!!!!!!!![/ame]

How would you get online you ask? tutorial here.

You must login or register to view this content.

I could be completely wrong about this though.

Like most people have been saying it could be as easy as the prestige hack I don't know.

I've done all the options on the Recovery Menu, and I stay on the firmware I'm on.

A reformat just erases everything on the HDD, and recovering to default settings just changes the system settings to what they were originally.

Well, let's take it simple as f**k.

If you're saying this is not the way to do it, editing the .pkg is not the way to do it and TheUnkn0wn says that the HDD method is not the way to do it, the which way actually is the f**king way to do it. For crying out loud, guys...

Do a barrel roll!
But wait, i just recently took a hardrive out of a broken laptop, a 160gb Toshiba drive, and once i put it in it said the drive could not be read please put the update file in a usb connect to the ps3 and press select and start at the same time.

So im thinking if you have a hard drive with the file system of a laptop (NTFS), and you plug it in it dosent recognize it so it needs to reformat it with the update. So just put the 3.15 update on your usb plug it in and use that to update it.

Just an idea but worth trying.

Dope.
Endure and Survive.
would it work if you had a ps3 that hasn't had one update, upon its first release. what i mean is, at my work there is a ps3 sitting there on display works perfect, just shows the menu and we play blu-rays on it, to show customers, its one of the first phat ones.

geohot has made dumps check out his blog everything else is just software wise, so hes technically already hacked the ps3

I have read/write access to the entire system memory, and HV level access to the processor. In other words, I have hacked the PS3. The rest is just software. And reversing. I have a lot of reversing ahead of me, as I now have dumps of LV0 and LV1. I've also dumped the NAND without removing it or a modchip.

3 years, 2 months, 11 days...thats a pretty secure system

Took 5 weeks, 3 in Boston, 2 here, very simple hardware cleverly applied, and some not so simple software.

Shout out to George Kharrat from iPhoneMod Brasil for giving me this PS3 a year and a half ago to hack. Sorry it took me so long Smile

As far as the exploit goes, I'm not revealing it yet. The theory isn't really patchable, but they can make implementations much harder. Also, for obvious reasons I can't post dumps. I'm hoping to find the decryption keys and post them, but they may be embedded in hardware. Hopefully keys are setup like the iPhone's KBAG
