I have a modded PSP and, since the operating system is the same, by some homebrew we can open the .pkg.
The only problem is that the PSP haven't the Playstation Network and the Patch, but there's the demos downlodable by the Playstation Store.

I dont think it would work basically the checksum wouldn´t beaccepted in the ps3.Also psp pkg decompresser might not exist. Btw I might +rep you =D for your work.

why not install vmware with linux on pc? save majority of us a fair bit of buying a psp

I suppose the psp open different pkgs then ps3.

the psp is a very difrent structure.
