(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guys. I am in need of a new desktop computer and i was wondering if i should invest in a high priced gaming monitor and plug my ps3 into that, or if i should just buy a crappy monitor and just play on my tv like i do now?

Do any of you play your ps3's or 360's on a Pc monitor? If so, is there any significant difference between the two?

Currently the tv i'm on now is a 21 inch old ass box tv and it sucks even with the hdmi cable .

I play with a PS3 on my PC monitor it is really good but i do have one issue, i may have some settings wrong but i think it is because although on a TV MW2 is 720p it is only actually 600p or something like that so i find that it is stretched upward slightly, not much but it is noticeable when scoped with a sniper. The scope is not circle it is oval XD

1. What are the specs of your monitor? Brand, size, response time, widescreen or standard, contrast ratio;etc.

2. Is the picture quality significantly better than a lcd tv?

Thanks for the response but I was looking for something with a little faster response time. the 2408 has a response time of 6ms. Im looking for something along the lines of a 2ms response time.

i use the same 21 inch full hd LG monitor for pc and ps3. In other words yh invest in a good monitor lol.

there are settings in the option menu of MW2 where you can change the limits of the screen. you don't need to make the margins fit the edges of the screen if that's what is making the screen stretch. you can try just making the oval into a circle :p

If you are going to use a computer monitor, then make sure it is a TN panel and preferably 16:9. Dell Ultrasharps/Apple Cinema, which are IPS panels if i recall correctly, are nice and have better picture, viewing angles etc. than TN panels, but response time is usually greater.

Im not sure what the max resolution COD on PC (i know op is on ps3 lol) supports, but it is much higher than consoles, so thats another advantage if used with a PC monitor versus TV which only supports a max resolution of 1920x1080.

My Jtags hooked up to a LCD monitor and I just use the default settings, everything looks fine to me.
