I understand it all, but kinda fuzzy on the whole recompiling process. I'll just set aside some time for this I guess. Need to make my own patch!

Nice tut.

Thanks for the tutorial, but I'm having some trouble re-compiling.

I extracted the .gsc and its in English...and its a .DAT file.

When I try to recompile using:
-o 0x00000027 (spacebar) (modded file) (spacebar) -w -15 (spacbar) (original compressed .ff)

In "modded file" I point to the location of the .gsc thats in English and in .DAT format which I modified, but it doesn't work. It gives the error "Wrong argument (location of english .gsc in .DAT format) "

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I have worked on this for about 3 days. I have literally spent about 30 some hours on it, and I have came up with nothing. I know how to recompile the way the tutorial says, but it doesn't work. I took the file, decompressed it, and then re-compressed without editing. It should be the exact same file on the inside, but it's not. So in other words, we can't recompile due to the compiler not compressing the file correctly. Does anyone know how to do this?

i will write a full tut to recompile when i finish at the gym tonight,

basicly, the name off the decompressed file is the offset you need to recompress to, each gsc has its own compression.

so if you decomp file is called 00000027 then you need to compress to byte 27
or if its 00000002 you need to compress to offset 00000002

the header is 27 bytes (complete .ff
and the 02 is the gsc files, because the 02 offset is after the zlib header ( 78DA or xU )
