Before I got my PS3, I had a 360 and as far as I can recall I never ever lagged in a single game of COD4. I'm not dissing PSN because I love the fact I don't have to pay for any online but the fact we get shitty servers; it's ridiculous. With that said I'm kind going off topic, I heard from a local gaming store where I live(they just came to the area... never heard of them) that Sony is moving to payed online gameplay in around 2012-2013.. I haven't heard any rumors but I just wanted to throw that out there to see what everyone thought about it.

Your game store is incorrect, it was stated in one of Sonys official press conferences that they had no intention of ever making a "pay to play" subscription for online gaming like Xbox has, which is why they have the advantage, they make their money by having the PSN+ which costs the same as an Xbox live gold membership but comes jam packed with better stuff for gamers than a GOLD membership could ever hope to give (4 free games a month? discounts on DLC ontop of free themes and avatars and Free DLC, yes pl0x). If Sony ever do decide to make a pay to play i highly doubt it will cost all that much, and from what i gather, microsoft have bought most of the dedicated servers from the game devs hence why Sony need to pull their finger out and get some themselves.
Pay to play isn't the answer, giving us the best online quality for free and having premium features and things is where Sony will triumph over microsoft.
back on topic i hope whoever does the next CoD takes into account the great features of the previous games and incorporates them into something amazing, people keep ranting about how Treyarch failed etc etc or that having the same stuff MW2 had is just making a Mw2 game over again. I think those opinions are both wrong, like the saying, why fix what isn't broken?
Mw2 had some issues of course but most of it wasn't to do with the features it had. Treyarch have tried Too hard to stop elements of gaming people enjoy playing (n00b tubing/Quick scoping etc etc) no matter how annoying those people are, it makes you think twice when you use your own tactics to combat them, and also makes you a better player once you've learnt how to combat them.
