I was so desperate to get this mod menu thing for mw2 that I went and bought a 3.55 ps3. I have the geohot 3.55 jailbreak installed and the "install package files" thing is there.

1. How do i now install a patch on mw2?

2.I want to use elite mossy derrick trotter v8 bles 068 (Anyone know where to get it?)

3. Can I go online with it? Wont it ask me to update to 3.72?

Now i have the comgenie awesome file manager.

I also have red dot city v6.6 patch.mp.ff

Thing is when I go to replace the patch in /dev_hdd0/game/BLES00683 There is nothing in there to replace?

I have installed MW2 but I obv have not gone online because wont it ask me to update firmware?

Hey also don't forget to download the pkg file so you can edit a mw2 patch anyways. also so it transfers it onto 3.72

This ps3 is not connected to the internet at the moment so I have just got a blank ps3 and put in the modern warfare disc.

When I go to BLES00683 > USDIR > there is no Patch_mp.ff to replace? there are NO files in that directory? Why would that be is it because I have obviously not updated modern warfare 2?

How can i update mw2 without going online? Can my jailbroken ps3 go online without it auto updating?

Get a .pkg online for update 1.11/1.12 and put it on a USB, install through package files. Then replace it and data transfer

Hi what is that? a .pkg?

Is that why the files are not in there?

How can I go online with it? Do i need to transfer the hacked patch from my 3.55jb to my 3.72?

Region is on the side of the game box, download your region's mw2 update here You must login or register to view this content.

Put it on the root of your USB and install the Pkg file on your ps3.

Then swap patch_mp.ff files with one from the modified patches section.

Lastly data transfer the contents of your 3.55 to your 3.71 ps3. Everything on the 3.71 will be deleted, but there are ways to avoid this.

OK i have installed the 1.11 .pkg files and now the empty directory has got the default patch_mp.ff file in it.............. I replaced it with reddotcity v6.6 and nothing? the game loads but i am unable to access any mod menu on split screen??

That's good, the problem is you are not bypassing. You need to delete the default_mp.self (keep a back up if it) to use 1.11 patches online.
Problem is other people will need to use a patch blocker to join your lobby. You can avoid this problem by using a 1.12 patch (and 1.12 folder) without deleting the default_mp.self .

1.11 patches are better, but people will need patch blocker to join so most people stick with 1.12 patches.

No the ps3 is and has never been online I just bought it with 3.55 to do this.

I have downloaded the 1.11 update to my usb and installed package files. I have then downloaded 1.11 patched elite mossy etc. I have tried replacing the patch_mp.ff file with various patches found on next gen and test them in offline split screen mode. I get nothing no mod menu nothing.

Am i missing something

Go to awesome file manager open bles00683>usdir>

Replace patch_mp.ff with hacked one

Start mw2 in split screen mode offline

No hack?

Nope deleting default_mp.self didnt work? Do i go to game data and delete mw2 data before applying each patch?
