(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Latest news comes from sources that Modern Warfare 2 will be supporting 600p resolution as the previous game of the sequence did. With this news it seems that the developer Infinity Ward has decided to choose a resolution of sub-HD.

In other words we can say that Infinity Ward has made the compromise of lower resolution that is of course in favor of a higher frame rate and more detail. In fact Modern Warfare 2 actually runs in the relatively low resolution of 1024 x 600. Oh yes, the console will actually upscale this to whatever display resolution gamers choose. PC users will be able to render the game at decent resolutions.

If Modern Warfare 2 was to run in HD then it would require the developer to add 307,200 pixels to the game.

In short, it seems that there is no real 720p or 1080p rendering Modern Warfare 2.

So, what you all say? Should the developer tried for higher resolution? Please share your technical knowledge about why Infinity Ward restricted the game below HD resolution.

From my limited knowledge of how this stuff works:

The 360 still uses DVD format. Therefore if they were to do this for the 360, it would take away from something else on the game. Remember, when your dealing with this type of stuff and you have a disc maxed out with information, whenever you add, you must take away. So lets say they need 20mb of memory to do make the game true 1080i. What part of the game are you going to take out to get a little higher resolution? The maps? The gaming engine itself?

I would also speculate that they just didn't want to spend the extra money to make two different versions of the game, so they just left it how it was for the PS3. If they did that I'm sure there is glitches that could come up from having to interlace the information in different ways. Therefore, a lot more programming and research and development. Why would they spend that money when they know your still going to buy the fame no matter what?

It would be cool if they did start doing that, though. It would force Microsoft to use BluRay a whole lot sooner.

This is all just one big slightly educated guess based on what I remember from one of my classes. I was usually hungover for that one so I could very well be wrong.
