(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); well alot of people have said treyarch just copied from IW blah blah blah you know the story, well i had an argument (if you can call it that) with some random guy on XBL the other day)

his argument was that everything in MW2 is original and not copied from anything else (where as treyarch copied everything from cod4 etc) so i decided to set about seeing if it was true, and the reason i came to this decision is by playing a very old game and noticed something

Going to be a work in progress thread as il work on it when im bored, add to it if you find anything else taken from another game
Please use some common sense and read the whole thing before you flame and/or -rep me. yes im talking to you GreekOps Happy, and some other twat but cant remember hes name

Game: Perfect dark 64.
IW took: The incoming nuke sound effect.

on the first level when you get caught by the camera, the alarm is an exact match for the incoming nuke Alarm sound from mw2, il try and get a copy or vid as comparison

Game: Goldeneye
IW took: Throwing knife

now alot of people seem to think throwing knife is new to FPS games, yet i know its been in several other FPS aswell, i dont know if goldeneye was the first, but its 1 of the earliest i remember

Game: Aliens (trilogy?)
IW took: Heartbeat sensors

well as soon as i saw the first screenshot of the HBS it automatically reminded me of aliens trilogy on psone, of course u could also say it was taken from the films but u get the idea

Game: several
IW took: Sentry guns

alot of people have moaned about these in the past like they are something new, well in several games theres been sentry guns in 1 form or another from aliens (controlled by laptop) and Laptop sentry gun (perfect dark 46) to name but 2, too many to list, but im gonna try and find the first placeable sentry gun n put it in the game tab asap

Game: marathon durandal (also on xbla)
IW took: Dual wielding guns

i got this info from my mate and fellow NGU member chaos_deception, this game is the first to have dual wielding in any FPS

Game: duke nukem
IW took: Game ending Nuke

Anyone remember this game? and the multiplayer? it wasnt based on a killstreak, it was a hidden switch in every multiplayer map = nuke instant win even if you was losing, its a different game mechanic but the principle is still the same

Game: Delta force / medal of honor
IW took: Noobtubes

Noobtubes are nothing new, they have been in plenty of other games but people didnt bitch about them then, just using the 2 most heard of series as an example, il have to search n find out what game first had noobtubes in

Well this is just how they make their money, they take ideas from other successful games.

nope the earliest game i remember to have a perk system was cod3 Smile still iw

COD3 was Treyarch. And that was a class system.

Just because MW2 has the same ideas as other games, doesn't mean it's copying. You can Dual-Wield guns in real life, but that doesn't mean they took it from another game... Also, the throwing knife has been used forever, in real life and in games... Basically, my point is that just because games share common ideas, it doesn't mean it's copying one way or the other.

no but the amount of people moaning about dual wielding models, tac knife etc etc from both people online and off this forum, complaining like these things are new and never before seen in a video game, this this was to put some perspective into their narrow single minded thoughts

none of whats in mw2 is new, its all been in other games before, yet why are so many complaining now? il tell you why, its noobs
(my term for these "noobs" are ones that use other xploits but are complaining about for instance care package runners because it always stops their killstreak etc)
that are complaining, theres 2 types of people (for this instance)

Those decent players that want to fix Real Issues, spawn mechanics, Hacks etc
or
Those moaning noobish immature people that flood bowlhead with complaints about models, running speed, lightweight and so on and so forth

Case in point, if u search these forums, theres more people crying their eyes out over Care package runners then their are about Spawn problems or hacks etc

same can be said for any other forums im guessing aswell

if im wrong il sell my copy of mw2 (which i will do son at this rate cos the games getting worse as the days go on)

we only see a small side here on consoles. the nuke, ac 130, and other streaks were taken directly from a PC mod.

he is right though i mean hell i thin trey does a super job on releasing lots of dlc fixing glitched sections of maps and they really work hard to make a fair and fun game... can you really say the same for iw
