Post: BF3 Fanboys: Why All The Hate?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Something that's been bothering me lately is the amount of BF3 fanboys hating on MW3 for no apparent reason. The reason I say that is because anytime I ask, I never get actual responses as to why they have so much hatred for the game. So now, I'd like to go over a few things with you.

For the people saying it's the same game as MW2:

Here's my biggest pet-peeve when it comes to the subject. This is one of the most common arguments in a BF3 vs MW3 debate that is rarely followed by any intelligent or logical insight, due to the fact that there is absolutely no way to back this statement up without looking like a fool. My rebuttal is that everything about the game is new. Try and argue the fact and you most likely will have nothing to fall back on. What separates this game from Modern Warfare 2 is as follows:

  • MW3 has all new guns (I understand that some guns have appeared in past games, but they will have all new mechanics).
  • MW3 has all new maps.
  • MW3 has new perks (some irreplaceable perks have returned, understandably).
  • MW3 has new killstreaks.
  • MW3 has new gameplay mechanics.
  • MW3 has new attachments for weapons.
  • MW3 has a continuation of a great campaign storyline.
  • MW3 has a tweaked and upgraded engine (to any BF3 fanboys who argue with "the engine is exactly the same as the MW2 engine": good. It doesn't need a brand new engine. It's the smoothest and most responsive engine I've ever seen).
  • MW3 is devoid of some of the biggest pains of the CoD community, such as Commando, One Man Army, Last Stand, and more.
  • MW3 has an all new Spec-Ops mode, featuring brand new gameplay mechanics never seen in Call of Duty before.

All this, and not to mention there are two new studios working alongside Infinity Ward that we've never seen Call of Duty content from. Some things are sure to be completely different. How is this the same game?

This is why I just don't understand the argument "it's the same exact game". It never makes sense and it makes you sound stupid. If you wanna go that far, BF3 is the same thing as BF2. Using your logic, any sequel to any game is the same game. And if you're looking for MW3 to be completely different from MW2, tough luck, because the franchise is Call of Duty, and changing that feel would forever change to franchise.

From CoD4 to MW2, Infinity Ward was still making improvements, such as adding and testing the killstreak system, and the variety of attachments CoD4. MW2 to MW3 will be different. Infinity Ward has built a sturdy and plentiful system with MW2, however, since it was the first game to contain all of these mechanics, it was essentially a test run to see what the fans did and did not want. Now that they have this information, they will use it to make MW3 the ultimate experience for consumers.

For the people who are saying BF3 is so much better than MW3:

Why? I simply want to know what's so groundbreaking about BF3 that separates it from MW3's new content. If you like BF3 better just because that's what you play, fine, I understand that, not everyone has the same tastes. But if you're hating on MW3 at the same time, I wanna know why. There's a reason it's one of the biggest franchises in history. I encourage a BF3 fanboy to step forward and share their thoughts on the game. Don't get me wrong either, I'm excited for BF3 and thoroughly enjoyed BC2, it just annoys me at how many people hate on MW3 with no reasoning.

If it's any consolation, I won't contest that the community generally sucks. It is very much filled with annoying little kids, but that's expected with a franchise so vast. If that's reason enough for you to hate the franchise, fine. But otherwise, I want to know what you hate about the game itself. Also, this is another reason for this post, to inform you skeptics that the whole of the CoD community is not filled with unreasonable, ignorant, immature children. But expect a portion of your beloved Battlefield community to go sour with BF3's release, with as much hype it's getting. Fair warning.

So if anyone would like to step up, I'd be more than happy to hear your debates.

Edit: I feel like a lot of people are taking my arguments as hostility towards BF3 fans; this is not the case. I'm simply debunking some of the rather unreasonable arguments proposed by them. This post isn't to prove that MW3 is/will be better than BF3, quite the opposite in fact. I'm excited for both games' releases and this post is simply to hear the legitimate and reasonable arguments on why they hate the CoD series so much. I am not here to argue their points. I'm here to restore sanity in the MW3 vs. BF3 debate, due to it's extreme lack of intelligence I feel it displaces.

I STILL don't see nearly as many noobtubers, rush knifers, or spawn killers in BF2 as compared to MW2. Furthermore, a flaw in MW2 (that is supposed to be revamped in MW3) is that 1 guy could win for the whole team without anyone's help this includes all game modes. In BF2 & 3, you NEED teamwork to get anywhere. Personally, I'm a fan of games where teamwork is needed to get places. If you want a real war simulator, get BF3. If you want a game where you don't have to be a professional to get 50+ kills in a game, get MW3. I will get both because I have been following COD & BF since there beginnings on PC.

Honestly this whole "teamwork" thing is just a bunch of talk unless you actually have a good team, which most of the time requires you to play with people who you know. Me and my friends would always play CTF or SnD in MW2 and use strategy to win, going as far as to use the horrible chatroom feature on the PS3 right in the middle of the game to send callouts. With MW3 they're trying to encourage teamwork with the implication of team perks and their all new XP system, which rewards the defenders of bomb sites and the capturer of flags and whatnot, instead of the slayer who stays as far from the objective as he can get. Will there still be people who pay no attention to the objective? Of course. And with all this hype BF3 is getting, a big portion of that demographic is going to be playing in your games, not going near the objective, and just trying to rack up kills. The teamwork thing is directly related to the community, not the game for the most part. If you're team wants to use teamwork to win, it'll happen in any game. I've played plenty of BC2, and many of the games I've played contained no attempt at teamwork, so pinning it on the game itself isn't right.

Yes, I've seen people in BF2 who don't do anything, but the whole teamwork train of thought follows the idea that you will be playing with a group of friends a lot.

Exactly, but the amount of MW3 hate I've seen far surpasses the amount of BF3 hate, which is the purpose of this thread.

Which is why it's a good thing that a game in CoD can be won with a few lone wolves as opposed to BF where you need team players, which you don't always get. Teamwork is always a good thing though.

I prefer CoD fast paced run and gun, in BF2 you felt so slow and heavy, and nothing in BF2 motivated me to level up, MW2 was so addicting and I loved leveling, working on my K/D, customizing my classes, ect. BF2 just didn't satisfy me which is why I have reason to believe that BF3 will not either. I also like being a "lone wolf" and me and my friends work as a team all the time and we beast, and I loved the feeling of teamwork, in MW2 and BF2, I just don't like a lot of things about Battlefield.

so your basically saying mw2 was a test game ....stare so yea wouldnt this be mw2.5 then not 3. and thats what patches are for to fix the game. you talk about pet peeves. well here is one of my favorite one. and the main reason i aint giving my money t activision. not because im a bf3 fanboy since i own more cod games than bf games.
when the dlc came out for mw2. xbox players found the rock glitch and other . when the dlc came out for ps3, robert bowling tweeted and tweeted multiple times that there was a patch on the way that would fix and oma and the exploits found in the dlc. but that would come after the release since they didnt want to delay dlc just for a few exploit. we all went and bought the dlc. and did activision ever give us a patch to fix the exploit or to fix oma like they promised....... NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so what the fukk makes you think these dickwads wont do some slimey shit again. and yes if you look at the campaign of mw2 and the footage they have shown of mw3. its the same fukking shit. your just a cod fanboy , your not a gamer. a gamer would know the diffrence. you say your tired of bf3 fanboys and im sick and tired of seeing threads and post made by you on this subject. i bet your super happy that q/s is back ... aint you /facepalm

you know what im not a fanboy of either i like playing both games with my friends i like BF cause it's (imo) more tactical and requires much more communication. I like CoD because its fast paced and its an easy game to just put in and play with some randoms and still have fun.

i hate things about both games as well though

BF i cant stand the dam knifing cause it is just to weird for me. sometimes im right on top of them and knife and it misses and i have to shoot them. grenades seem to travel like a mile when you throw them. and those dam snipers (even though i do like it takes actual skill with sniping due to the bullet drop). and the only 4 people in a squad is pretty lame at least make it 6.

CoD i hate the knifing lunge all the panic knifers. people don't communicate barely ever. boosters (mw2). host advantage (forget trying to knife him). Hit detection is horrible for it. and i know some of you like that QS shit but i hate it thats just my opinion on that. and ofcourse noobtubers

i will be getting both games though im a fanboy of FUN games. mw3 xbox bf3 for ps3

Cake is a lie
Because people love debating about stupid shit like they are getting paid to do so.

Xbox vs PS3 as an example.

Battlefield 3 looks like a great game but its so stupid when BF3 fanboys think their hatred for COD will somehow make BF3 better. Its like if my hot girlfriend dumps me so I let my hatred of her trick me into thinking thats going to make ugly girls look better.

Luckily BF3 comes out 2 weeks before MW3. So that will give normal people a chance to see how great it is, and see if its a game for them. I prefered MW2 over BF2 because MW2 was faster paced, and as much as COD fans cry about camping, BF2 featured way more camping...However MW3 and BF3 are new games. I am excited for both.

I admit I am favoring MW3 only based of previous COD titles being enjoyable for me. But if Battlefield 3 is better, I will have no issues playing it instead. I am not getting paid by Activision or EA so it doesnt matter.

Liking one game just to spite another game is stupid
