It would appear that Activision wants us to spend our money on Co ELITE rather than an over priced prestige edition. According to 1up.com there will be no prestige edition. Instead, MW3's hardened edition will cost 10$ more than the MW2 or Black Ops hardened editions were. The total price of MW3 and the 1 year service of CoD Elite is roughly 109.00$. So buying the hardened edition is 10$ off and get you the "Special Founder Status" on CoD Elite, plus the Steel Book Case, Animated timeline theme (for ps3 users), and a "Limited Edition" Field manual.
For XBOX 360 users, A limited edition console will be released along side the game on November 8 including A MW3 skinned 320 GB(the largest XBOX HDD yet) console, Two MW3 skinned controllers, a 1 month subscription for XBOX Gold membership, and exclusive items for your avatar to wear.
On October 11 the controllers, along with a MW3 blutooth headset will be released, for 69.99$

My Opinion: The hardened edition is a good deal if you plan to get all the map packs like I do. If you are getting the game to play sigleplayer only, or do not want the mappacks, then I would suggest getting the regular edition.

I knew it, they would've announced it at CO XP so people wouldn't have to re-up their pre-order again from regular to hardened to prestige.

What would activision put in the prestige addition anyways? An inflatable Juggernaut suit with a cheap plastic riot shield?

Never was a fan off GAMES over the 100 Pounds/euro mark, and fortunately never will.

I don't get your point about how activision wants you to spend your money on elite? That doesn't make any sense as a reason not to make a prestige edition of the game, they'd still be getting your money and if you are a prestige buyer, you are probably a loyal and hardcore cod fan, meaning you'll get elite anyways even if it didn't come with the prestige which it no doubt would.

They probably don't have a need for a prestige edition.

Probably just the additional cost to manufacture the thing that'd come with Prestige Edition, they really don't need to given the amount of money they make with 2-years in a row record breaking sales...

Elite is a service you must subscribe to. The hardened edition gives you a 1 year subscription free. In other words, if you get the regular edition, you must pay for it. At least thats what I understand about it. The reason they are not making a prestige edition is we (the cod community) gave the feedback that the prestige edition was worthless and over-priced. So Activision decided not to manufacture it to save money as the amount of prestige editions sole would probably not cover how much it cost to make them.

Btw its 320GB, The same as Gears of War console. Maybe in a couple of weeks you will see it available.
