Modern Warfare 3 - Banning system

Reading a news article on the security of Modern Warfare 3 I came across this quote:

This shows they are going to be using hotfixes to update the game just like Treyarch did so no regular patch updates.

However as you can see in the quote Infinity Ward are not going to be as easy as they were on Modern Warfare 2. On Mw2 the prestige hack was released weeks after the game was launched and nearly nobody got banned or reset, and they still didnt patch it.
Even with challenge lobbies there were still no bans given out.
All of the above refers to ps3 as xbox involved JTAG which you were banned directly by Microsoft.
Boosting was also overlooked on Mw2.

Now infinity ward are taking Treyarchs approach and will be dishing out the bans for boosting and cheating. It is unsure whether there will be the return of the rather harsh console banning which occured after the Eboot hack.
But with COD elite it makes it a whole lot easier to locate boosters and I read that there will be teams of employees who are dedicated to looking at the leaderboards and Elite heat maps for any unusual activity.
As for hacking you can expect bans on Modern Warfare 3 so Id think twice before doing any hacks which do get found (ihatecompvir :carling: )

They are not going to be as lenient this time round so will you still boost?
Will you still try to hack if one is found?

I hope they go hard, it just seems like the kind of thing you do very little about or A LOT about

What'll happen to the people who genuinely get alot of headshots/ a very high k/d ratio ?
In black ops i was accused of using lag switches,hacking, n00bing, cheating etc. and i got reported D=
will they be able to see how you got them or will they be like "yeah he got too high a k/d ratio lets reset him"

More reasons not to buy the game, BF3

i dont really mind boosters because its fun to go into free for alls and other boosting game modes and f*ck them up and even if you come up against a guy which has boosted to whatever rank+prestige.. you know he`s sh*t.. = free kills

Only thing they should go harsh on is prestige hackers or hackers in general ie.. modded stats etc..
Console ban is fine.. if hackers didn`t learn from black ops.. then they must be pretty stupid in thinking infinity ward will let their game be modded to the max and not to hand out bans.

So IW has learned something.

I will be hacking MW3 if they release a hack. I will not immediatly put it on like I did on Black Ops, but rather WAIT and see if they console ban, profile ban, or what. I'm playing it smart this time and waiting to see what happens.

hopefully they do carry out bans if people start to cheat and not make empty promises like they did with mw2

Finally IW Learned Something!

There will ALWAYS be those sad 13 year old children who get mad and go crazy with the Report button. With the in depth stats and theater modes IW will easily be able to check your recent games and confirm whether or not you are "Legit". I am sure there won't be any unnecessary bans/ resets.

On topic: I probably won't be hacking simply because I think [hope] the game will be better without it. However, if it turns into CoD 4 where it is slmost required I will. Otherwise be ready to take 20 shots from a full auto grenade launcher to the balls...

BTW: While it may seem harsh to IP/Conslole ban someone for hacking, you were warned... It is fully covered in Sony's/ Microsoft's EULAs and Terms of Service... Damn ToS's...
