Modern Warfare 3 - Banning system

Reading a news article on the security of Modern Warfare 3 I came across this quote:

Part of that is learning from Treyarch's work on Black Ops and being pro-active and aggressive on banning, watching the leader boards, looking for cheaters...And one of the big things we've changed is the ability to alter the game post-launch."

This shows they are going to be using hotfixes to update the game just like Treyarch did so no regular patch updates.

However as you can see in the quote Infinity Ward are not going to be as easy as they were on Modern Warfare 2. On Mw2 the prestige hack was released weeks after the game was launched and nearly nobody got banned or reset, and they still didnt patch it.
Even with challenge lobbies there were still no bans given out.
All of the above refers to ps3 as xbox involved JTAG which you were banned directly by Microsoft.
Boosting was also overlooked on Mw2.

Now infinity ward are taking Treyarchs approach and will be dishing out the bans for boosting and cheating. It is unsure whether there will be the return of the rather harsh console banning which occured after the Eboot hack.
But with COD elite it makes it a whole lot easier to locate boosters and I read that there will be teams of employees who are dedicated to looking at the leaderboards and Elite heat maps for any unusual activity.
As for hacking you can expect bans on Modern Warfare 3 so Id think twice before doing any hacks which do get found (ihatecompvir :carling: )

They are not going to be as lenient this time round so will you still boost?
Will you still try to hack if one is found?

Only thing they should go harsh on is prestige hackers or hackers in general ie.. modded stats etc..
Console ban is fine.. if hackers didn`t learn from black ops.. then they must be pretty stupid in thinking infinity ward will let their game be modded to the max and not to hand out bans.

yeah i learnt from my ps3 console ban that hacking just isnt worth it, and it takes the fun out of the game.
hackers should have learnt by now they won't get away with it anymore, and should give up and move on Smile

as for boosters, yesss its so funny throwing a grenade and getting a double kill :p

Oh man now they gonna ban for hacking?

Good. Now all those kids who think it is cute to pay for lobbies can be banned.

Now if you find real exploits (wall breach, secret areas, wall floats) you shouldn't be banned. It isn't your fault that IW left holes in the game. By the time you actually got into the spot the game is usually half over, it is something fun and usually not that much of an advantage. But if you have to pay to get ahead you should be banned. (I know none of you pay for your JTAG/prestige hacks and you got them "for free").

Only downside is: In MW2 if I saw xXSn1peRxExTrEm3xX and he had the spinning skull emblem then I knew he would go 6-21 and would be an easy kill.

Boosting is a waste of time! I could get the same amount of points in a single 5 minute Search and Destroy match than a 2 hour boost lobby! And tbf boosters are usually shit players, this is why there is no point in having a leaderboard because you dont know if high ranked players are good or not.

*x2LJ3x* Worst tactic player ive ever seen on Mw2, all he does is boost and camp most of the time, thats what hes good at, no life at all.

KD Ratio is not a matter no more, as people will suddenly think, oh he must of boosted he cant be that good.

So I do hope IW can keep it together and keep boosters away, hacking to, if hackers f_u_c_k the leaderboard up on this one, I will probably think about selling my console along with the game. Waste of time.

If they leak a hack around here, I am sure to report that to IW, sick of seeing tryhards man, they ruin the game, and COD Elite. So expect the same policy as BO. Hack = console ban.

The game may still be hacked, but if IW is actually gonna do something about it this time, maybe MW3 will be a decent game like it was before the prestige hack came out for MW2. I like being competitive in some games. Probably why I like poker.
