Lag compensation is for people that have bad connection and are compensated for it. So they are given a second or two advantage against everyone else, which sounds fair and fine.... until it is put into practise.

By placing those people ahead they have a very unfair advantage compared to those that have good internet connections, it is impossible to react in time to their movements, especially when they come around a corner. So inturn people with good connections are being punished for having a good connection (which they probably pay a lot more than the bad connection people). Majority of the Call of Duty players have budget internet connections, the worst part is that many players will have an advantage in a match.

In games before black ops, only the host will have a major advantage, that is just one player in a match, however the case is that more than one person in a match is being compensated for their terrible internet connection. This fix is happening because it was unnecessary to add lag compensation, in MW2 the connection system was fine. This one is broken because too many people are being compensated for no reason. The worst hit person is the host as despite being the host, it is/was a curse (not anymore for me), the host will lag every 5 seconds and will loose every head to head gun fight.

Your internet connection is fine, you are not being compensated (I think), also note the letter's cases, it's 6Mb (Megabits) not 6MB (MegaBytes), internet speeds are measured in bits and not bytes, 8 bits = one byte, what your connection means is that you download 6Mbps (Megabits per second), meaning in 8 seconds you will download 6 MB (MegaBytes), so your speed is around about 750KB (Kilobytes) a second.

Little b means bits, big B means bytes, (in internet speeds it matters because that's how it is advertised and default measured).

The past two patches have made the game playable as host, I am finally getting games with 3-5 KD and of course hit detection is spot on and I swear for some reason I have a feeling there is still a host advantage (and lag advantage is still there), all with theatre recording on. Smile

Laughing at DSL connections? Our ping times are lower, and our speeds are higher. We don't share our connections. So when your Cable provider offers you 50MBPS you'll be lucky to EVER achieve 20. Not to mention, your download speed isn't whats required to play. It has a tiny factor. It's primarily upload speed. Cable ISP rarely offer over 2MBPS Upload.

I myself have a 75/45 connection. ADSL. I run ~6ms ping. I'm ALWAYS host. Maybe you should think about getting a dedicated connection, instead of sharing with your neighbours. So you can actually have speeds like advertised.
